Spring is on its way . . . !
This morning I noticed the beautiful Bradford pear trees beginning to bloom! Redbuds are also making their appearances, and dogwoods won't be far behind. A week or two ago the daffodils started popping up everywhere, and we've had Carolina jessamine and even azaleas blooming during the winter, due to this haywire weather we've been having! Gladioli stems have been rising from their flowerbeds, and irises are preparing for their show. It won't be long! But guess what was predicted for this weekend? Snow!!! I guess I could have titled this "Spring is Here, But Winter's on its Way!"

Magnolia, MS, held its seventh annual Mardi Gras parade on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Although the day was quite chilly and the skies overcast, both participants and spectators turned out in record numbers to enjoy the morning's parade, in addition to food and entertainment lasting through the next day.
