Lake Murray has a plan to expand recreation in the upcoming years. SC Dept of Parks, Recreation and Tourism wants federal officials to add more Lake Murray trails and picnic areas to it's proposed improvement plan. The current plan for improvement focuses on boat landings and fishing piers along the 650 mile shore of Lake Murray. Lake tourism officials want to make the lake more usable for the public as well as residents of Lake Murray.
