If your sick of Watertown, Wisconsin Winter...Vacation here..They have margaritas and...Its Warm !!!

If your sick of snow...and want warm weather NOW... here it is...and they have margaritas to boot !!! Ohhhh Yahhhhhh !!! Its on the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. The city's name is Puerto Pinasco..or to the residents of Arizona...Rocky Point.

About 3 years ago I had to check out a duplex for my Dad in Arizona City. While staying there I decided to take a trip South of the border and wanted to be on the ocean. Puerto Pinasco was the closest place, about a 3 hour trip by car......everyone seems to speak English because they want the tourist buck, the weather was great, and the food was excellent. It was a total blast. About 20 years ago this was a sleepy fishing village...the boats still go out daily and the fresh shrimp you get at the restaurants are the best anywhere. Now the gringos have found it and several multimillion dollar hotels, and condos are springing up. There are still 100 dollar a night rooms available on the ocean. Its the deal of the century.

They are in the process of finishing an airport there...it may be done now, and finishing a highway to the northwest of the Mexico, at the Arizona border. When that happens my little known secret will explode.

One other hint...when you check this place out on the internet..make sure you know about the American colleges' Spring break. Seems its a non stop party down there..if thats what you are into. I prefer having the beach all to myself.

Thats my two cents worth for today.

Watertown, Wisconsin ,Homes for sale, Blowing my own horn! THREE CLOSINGS

Hi All,

I think I'm going to have to start a specific real estate blog for myself. I usually write about the Watertown area, but this time this "blogging" will be different. Its about business. I have not done this before, but its the sort of thing that , despite the gloomy concerns of the economy, shows a glimmer of hope for our industry. I had THREE CLOSINGS in TWO DAYS! Yup, In a radius of about 15 miles of Watertown, Three closings in two days. Sure I'm proud of the accomplishment, but even more important to all from my area that service customers in real estate, the market is not dead. I try to be the best I can be in my market, but the fact remains that there is ALOT of talent out there. We all have a shot at making a living if we keep our eyes on the prize.

My Dad always said, "If your going to do something, do it right". Its one of several rules I follow in business. It works for me and it will work for you.

The second rule I have followed since I have been in real estate has to do with a cartoon. I have a cartoon in my office that shows a stork trying to swallow a frog, but while he trying to swallow the frog, the frog has his hands around the stork's neck..choking the stork and not giving in to being swallowed. I used to keep this cartoon up to remind me not to give up on the "hard" deals and to persevere to get things done. Now it has a broader meaning..and that is not to get "swallowed up" by the negativism of this economy . KEEP ON TRYING AND "DON'T EVER GIVE UP".

Heck, if I can do it, anybody can.........and all the real estate agents reading this in the Watertown area are shaking there heads YES about now..... I work by simple rules....My Dad's Rule, My Rule, The Golden Rule, etc. etc.. Nothing fancy....and maybe thats the key.

Thats my two cents worth for today.

In Watertown, Wisconsin?... a couple of places to eat or wet your whistle

Hi All,

Seems like everybody has been pointing out that my tummy seems to be getting bigger. I have no excuse..I love to eat and drink at good places. Some of my favorites are: for breakfast, Franks Corner Cafe right on Main Street. I seem to get half of my listings for my real estate business there. Its the type of "social networking " I like best...good food and good conversation with friends.

For dinner, its Elias Inn. It easy to find..just go one block North from Franks Corner Cafe on Main Street. I dont think I ever got a lead for a listing or a sale there, but who cares. The great steaks make up for it!

Finally for a nice place to relax, and or, let a cool brew slip down the old pipe ( gotta keep the ol voice box lubed at all times ) its a salesman's most precious tool, you have to try Lyon's Irish Pub. Its a quaint ol pub right on the Main drag....right across from Frank's Corner Cafe.

You see, I made it easy to find your heart's desire within a 2 block radius. Bon Appetite!!!

Sincerely

My Home Town

steve voss

I love my hometown, Watertown, Wisconsin. Whether it is living, working, or enjoying the area, a "can do" attitude is visible with just about everyone you meet in Watertown. Watertown is famous for many reasons. One for example , is that it is the home of the first kindergarden in the United States, which is visable on the grounds of the "Octagon House". Another great example is that Watertown was the source for producing cream city bricks for building. I lived one block away from the "Old Brickyard where they were made 100 years ago. There are so many things to do in this charming city that it is impossible to do them all in one day. My friend Tom Braatz from recently did a post and profile. Check it out.

SINCERELY
