Today I was fortunate enough to have been invited to a lovely bridal shower in Tradition. The venue was the new Olive Garden, and I do have to say, it is a really nice place to have a party. The view from the room that we were in was lovely. It overlooked a pond and there were vines "growing" off of the pillars on the outer part of the building. Stunning! The food was delicious (of course), and the service was exceptional. In my opinion, the staff were very professional, courteous, and efficient. I would highly recommend that everyone within earshot stop in the Olive Garden for a simple lunch, or an elegant dinner. You won't be disappointed.
There are other fantastic eateries in Tradition as well. Steak, seafood, burgers, sandwiches and the like are available within walking distance of the Olive Garden. Shopping is plenitiful as well. Big chain stores like Target, Michaels, and Bed Bath and Beyond are just a few that come to mind. There is a Publix Supermarket, several banks, and even a McDonalds.
Tradition is growing by leaps and bounds. Just last year many of the afore mentioned establishments didn't even exist. There are new homes available as well. Some are in gated communities, others are within walking distance of Tradition Town Square. There are parks and playgrounds scattered among the neighborhoods in Tradition. A new school opened in August too.
Tradition is a planned community with its eye on family living. It has a certain "small-town charm" about it. I normally find myself out there at least once a week, if not more.

Yesterday was a monumental day in our country's history. I am so proud to be an American right now!! I never really had much of an interest in politics over the years, but with the things that have been happening to our economy during recently, I am finding myself getting more involved.
The world was abuzz yesterday with the inauguration of our new president. I sat in front of my computer screen, with my collegues gathered around me, to watch the events unfold. It was just so inspiring to see our new president take the oath with such pride. Yea, he may have misplaced a few words (or the chief justice may have done it for him), but overall it was exiting to watch.
I learned something yesterday. I learned that no matter who you are, what you look like, how much you do or do not know; anyone can become a leader!! The president.
How great is is to be part of history!!
I just had to share!! Today I was the lucky duck in the pond :-)
Floor time is really a great way to get business when you are an agent.
I took two calls today that weren't for "anyone", and the clients that called needed "someone" to assist them. I graciously took their information, and asked the normal battery of questions. What I found were two different people, from two very different areas, that are looking for similar things.
I am now on a quest for two houses. One will be a rental, the other a purchase. Both will be 3/2/2, one with a large back yard, the other with a zero lot line. Both need to be CBS construction. Both should be no further north than Martin County. Both should be in the western part of the county, near the Turnpike or I-95. Pools are not a requirement, but a possiblity if the price is right.
Do you have a listing that fits the bill? If so, let me know. Maybe we can make a sale!!!
As you may (or may not) know, St. Lucie County has an abundance of activities available for just about every interest imaginable. Take for example, baseball. Our city has been home to the New York Mets spring training camp since 1989. Since that time, people from far and wide have come to Port St. Lucie hoping to attend a game or two. How exciting it is to know that Spring Training is just around the corner. I heard the other day that tickets for this year's spring training went on sale on Saturday, and the first home game is scheduled for February 26th. Ticket prices range from$6 to $25 each. Not a bad price for an afternoon of entertainment.
The Mets Stadium (renamed Tradition Field)is located in St. Lucie West, right off of I-95. Each time there is a game, I love to hear the sounds of the crowd cheering for their favorite team! The whole "ball game" experience is so exciting. Since it has been a few years since I have attended a game, it might be fun to get out and see a game once training starts. It would be a great way to spend an afternoon. Who knows, I may even catch a ball. That would be exciting!!
I had quite an interesting today.
I needed to be in just about every corner of Port St. Lucie in a very short time. My supervisor told me that it would be geographically impossible for me to go to all of the places that I needed to go in one afternoon. I took that to be a sort of a challenge. I am always up for a challenge.
So, off I went. My first stop, Tradition. I did what I needed to there and continued on my journey. My next stop was near the Prima Vista area. Rather than take the usual "long way", I decided to "cut-through" and use the new Crosstown Parkway. This road is such a time-saver. The whole idea of the parkway is to lessen the traffic on the highly traveled roads, and to have a straight shot from US1 to I95. Ideally the project will be finished within the next 5 years (a bridge will need to be built to cross over the north fork of the St. Lucie River). For now, the parkway is useful for those of us in the western part of town.
As I continued my trek, I traveled east to US1 from Prima Vista and then south to my final destination, which was east of US1. I even managed to make it back to my office in time. It felt good to "prove" to my supervisor that things can get accomplished with a positive attitude, and a well planned strategy. Overall I would guess that I was on the road a total of 2.5 hours (including the time it took at each stop), which was pretty good since my total distance traveled was about 55 miles round trip. And the best part, I never left the city limits.
Port St. Lucie is a fairly large city. We can boast of a population near 166,000 and the city covers approximately 114 square miles. That's pretty big. But, if you have ever visited here, it isn't like most major cities. You won't find the high rises and cluttered streets. Port St. Lucie is different. Our Mayor, Patricia Christensen, had this to say: "The City of Port St. Lucie is unique in that it is a large city that retains its "small town feeling." The city has once again been designated as one of the top ten fastest growing cities in the nation by the U.S. Census office. If you are looking for business opportunities, or just a great place to live and raise a family, we invite you to learn more about our burgeoning city".
I couldn't have said it better myself. Well, maybe I could have.
