When it comes to a real estate transactions, we all need to be very conscientious about the contractual deadlines.
Afterall, if any deadline is not met, then that party is in "breach of the contract".
If there are any types of delays, our obligation is to document and notify all parties involved.
Not collecting deposit monies have actually resulted in realtors being fined, so pay special attention to those dates.
I have a separate calendar for this purpose.
Once I put a contract together, I mark my calendar for the deadlines involved.
One deadline that has been consistently delayed is that mortgage commitment. I'm finding that even though the appraisals are done on a timely basis and are successful, the underwriters are struggling, which is resulting in the commitments being delays.
Then in turn; when the commitment is delayed, the closing is delayed as well!
I have two transactions that the mortgage commitments are due today, BOTH are requesting an extension.
Seems like I'm doing a lot of crossing out on my calendar lately!

This is that first that I heard of it and wanted to spread the word about this.

Campbell Soup Company and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) have joined together to help Stamp Out Hunger in America!
One in eight Americans struggle with hunger.
Tomorrow, please leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods (in non-breakable containers) next to your mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on May 9.
Our letter carriers will be collecting donations across the country and delivering them to food bank.
