Rainy Day Got Ya Down?

So it's another rainy day in Columbia, SC.

One of my least favorite days to show property is when it's raining. I think it might be a buyer's least favorite as well. Not only do you have to be on the roads with all of the legendary horrible South Carolina drivers, but you have to get out in the rain, mud, and take your shoes off to go into a house.

I have had the akward experience of showing up to a house as another agent was leaving with a client on a rainy day. As we take our shoes off on the covered front porch, we open the door to find muddy foot prints on the carpet. Not only is that inconsiderate of the agent to dirty up the house, but it looks bad for my client as I show it.

Agents - When it is rainy outside, it is NOT innapropriate to ask a client to take their shoes off before entering a home. If anything, it shows that you care about the property that your client could be potentially purchasing. Lead by example!

Hopefully the rain will clear up soon and we'll be back to this wonder 60 and 70 degree weather in December!!!

Remember Those Less Fortunate During the Holidays

The Midtown office of Coldwell Banker United Realtors is collecting items for a less fortunate family in the Columbia area. Although times are tough for us in the real estate industry right now, remember it could always be worse! Take some time this holiday season to donate food to a food bank, volunteer at a soup kitchen, pick up a toy for Toys for Tots, or organize a present drive in your office for a needy family. What may seem like not much at all to you, could mean the world to someone else!

Happy Holidays!
