5 Things to Know About Davidson Realty

5 Things to Know About Davidson Realty

Things in a lot of areas of real estate are not where we want them to be yet. However, we are excited about the direction of our company.

The market overall could definately be better. However we are proud of the accomplishments of our company.

1. In the past 12 months, our Agent staff has doubled.

2. We continue to be the biggest lister in World Golf Village, and now we're the top lister in Palencia too.

3. Our reach has expanded beyond St. Johns County and St. Augustine to include Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra and even Flagler County.

4. According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, Davidson Realty is now among the top 10 real estate agencies in the area.

5. Most of our Agents now hold CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) designations, so they can shrewdly advise clients on the ins and outs of today's market, including short sales and foreclosures.

No matter how bad it is, it ain't that bad...

Friday Cookout at Davidson Realty Inc.

Tomorrow's the Day.....

Anyone in the St. Augustine and Jacksonville area that is considering buying property or has bought property from Davidson Realty is invited to lunch at Davidson realty Inc. at the World Golf Village.

The third Friday of each month Jim Davidson, at his expense, grills hamburgers and hot dogs for anyone that shows up. The company supplies all the condiments as well as salads, chili (for the dogs), slaw (for the dogs) and the drinks.

A lot of the staff brings deserts. We have an agent, Mirtha, that makes Flan that is undescribable. Not that I ever eat any.

Friday Cookout at Davidson Realty Inc.

This is Jim and his son Sam. If you have trouble identifying him, Jim is the one on the right.

The only problem is when you go to the cookout Jim and a few of his buddies do all the cooking. Rick, Ed, JR, and Ricky. Jim is the most civilized looking of the five. So it's like the old joke about going to a Chinese restaurant and not really knowing what kind of meat you are getting.

Well, we are missing a few Road Kills from the streets. Now I am not saying anything but it does make you wonder a little. However, after covering it with the datil Sauce that Jim and his buddies supply you don't think about anything but haow good it is.

We never know what all will be there due to agents bringing food unannounced. There have been rumors I have eaten hot dogs, hamburgers, and bratwurst at the same meal and gone back to the kitchen for leftovers around 3pm. Now Jim knows these are myths and just one hot dog is enough for me. Especially when they are covered with chili, sauerkraut, relish, onions and Datil Pepper Mustard that Jim supplies that is home made.

If you are around tomorrow come by and ask for Ted.

Jim Davidson’s Delicious Salmon Stuffed with Goat Cheese

Jim Davidson's Delicious Salmon Stuffed with Goat Cheese

Jim Davidson was the developer of the World Golf Village and he and his wife own Davidson Realty Inc. However, he is one of the most phenomenal cooks/chefs I have ever met. Every morning he walks into my office and tells me in detail what he prepared and cooked the night before. I could not even imagine remembering the ingredients much less how they interact with each other.

"Jim Davidson"

This is a picture I took a couple weeks ago when Jim asked me to photograph 1177 acres of land he decided to sell. It has 4 miles of waterfront on the lake. I felt like I had gone back in time. It was an honor being there.

For those that have not noticed, Jim is a Cajun. This is actually property on the south end of St. Augustine even though it looks like I took it in the Bayou.

Now I know most of you, like me, don't like food. But for the ones that do here is Jim's recipe for Salmon stuffed with Goat Cheese.

Salmon Stuffed with Goat Cheese & Fresh Spinach

Buy large salmon filets boned and skinned (I purchase ½ of the whole salmon and cut it into steaks 3"- 4" wide). Make sure the fish market pulls all the rib bones out of the meat.

Make a thick mixture of goat cheese (garlic or herb encrusted) and fresh spinach. Mixture should be very thick.

Rub each filet with olive oil and cut a small slice in the side of each filet to create a pocket for the stuffing mixture. Insert about 3 tablespoons of the goat cheese and fresh spinach mixture into each filet.

Completely wrap each filet in a pastry strip then baste the top of each pastry wrapped filet with egg wash (lightly whipped egg whites). Publix sells the pastry in the frozen section. Make sure to thoroughly thaw the pastry before use. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes until pastry is brown. While the salmon is cooking, I heat up a can of lobster bisque.

To serve put ¼ cup of lobster bisque on plate, put salmon on top of bisque, then put another ¼ cup of bisque on top of salmon. Serve with any type of pasta (I like pasta with clam sauce. It might also go good with a nice bottle of white wine!)

Questions on "How to Get Rained On"? Orlando 24th

RainCamp Orlando is the 24th of this month. I want to make the most of it since we have not seen many close enough for me to justify going to. I am hoping staff or members that have been before can answer a few questions.

The first thing I did was prepare my Blackberry. I was trying to keep it simple and not use any AR material that may be copyrighted. Since this is a technical group I figured I would start with the phone even though it will be off at the meeting. In the meantime, every time I use it I will be reminded of the 24th.

I am looking for the basics that will make it fun as well as a learning experience.

Do we go straight into the meeting or is there a "gathering" to meet introduce ourselves in the morning?

I realize we need material to write and take plenty of notes on. However, if we want the best experience to get "Rained" on, I would like to carry only what is necessary.

Storm heading to Orlando and the weather bureau has named it "RainCamp"!

In all honesty I would like advice from participants on what they found they would like to have had at RainCamp, not what they took.

Was there a need for a laptop?

I notice some people take their cameras.

Notepads?

Once you left the function what were the items you were glad you took and what were the items you did not have that you wished you had taken.

I want to carry the least amount of weight around during the day but want to make sure I have everything necessary to learn everything I can that will help me do the best job for my customers that I can once I return.

Looking forward to a major learning curve thanks to the Staff at AR.

Thanks for any advice.
