Beverly Massachusetts, located just twenty miles north of Boston and approximately thirty miles south of the New Hampshire border, is an excellent and exciting community in which to buy your home. Founded in 1626, Beverly Mass is one of the oldest settlements in the state. It was originally part of Salem, Massachusetts but because of religious differences, it was separated and incorporated as a separate city in 1668.
Beverly today is a great place to buy your home. There are many churches of various denominations sprinkled throughout Beverly. For you or your children's education, there are public and private high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, and institutions of higher learning. You have easy access to Endicott College, Montserrat College of Art, Salem State College, North Shore Community College, and Gordon Seminary College.

Another main street in Beverly is Elliott Street (Route 62) where you will find The Cummings Center, former home of the United Shoe Machinery Corporation. The Cummings Center has helped to revitalize Beverly's business community separate from Beverly's downtown area. It hosts businesses as varied as computer companies to dental offices, along with many fine eating establishments, and a child care center. Visit them: http://www.cummings.com/bev.html
At one time, the "Shoe" was the primary industry in Beverly. A large amount of Beverly real estate was constructed during the early 1900's to accommodate the builders who built and then eventually worked in this huge conglomeration of foundaries which included its own water power plant using its own water supply. Today, it is commonly referred to as the "Shoe Pond". Take a walk around it on the public walkway and enjoy all they have done to beautify this wonderful pond, complete with Beverly homes across the street on McKay Street, and ducks raising their families floating along.
Medical facilities in Beverly are state-of-the art. Beverly Hospital is associated with the Northeast Health System which includes many Boston hospitals. Beverly also has a women's health Center focusing on all aspects of women's care. Nursing homes and assisted care facilities are readily accessible, as well as a sports medicine rehabilitation clinic.
For the Beverly commuter, there are at least five entrances/exits to Rte. 128 located around the city giving easy access to all of our Beverly homes. I just have to share this with all of you who have not had the pleasure of visiting New England in Autumn. The flavor of New England in the Autumn is never more boastful as evidenced at the Topsfield Fair. This annual county fair is held at the Topsfield Fair Grounds in Topsfield, Massachusetts every October. Famed as "America's Oldest" county agricultural fair founded in 1818, this event promotes and supports the efforts of the Essex County agricultural community. But it's much, much more than just agricultural.
The Topsfield fair has something for everyone. Sand Sculptures, milking demonstrations, Giant Pumpkin contest, games and rides, agriculture exhibits and demonstrations, cattle barn, flower barn, fruits and vegetable barn, art demonstrations and competitions, and one of the best things of all.....great food! My personal favorite is the fried dough loaded with melted butter, cinnamon sugar, and powdered sugar. MMMMMMM good! Well, once a year is okay, right?
Essex County of Massachusetts encompasses 829 square miles of land in the Northeastern section of Massachusetts. It's cities include 39 cities, towns, and villages. A fair number of these are rural in nature, and enjoy beautifully scenic landscapes with wooded, rolling hills bathed in reds and golds in the Autumn. Some of these rural communities include Topsfield, Essex, Groveland, Hamilton, Wenham, Georgetown, Middleton, and Rowley. View homes for sale in these Essex County communities.
The North Shore of Essex County includes many, many miles of coastal land with beautiful homes. Some of these coastal communities include Salem, Marblehead, Swampscott, Beverly, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, Newbury, Newburyport and Rockport. View homes for sale in these coastal communities.
