In February of 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act offering ten key provisions to first time home buyers. According to Realtor.org, "The bill provides for a $8,000 tax credit that would be available to first-time home buyers for the purchase of a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009."

As always, we encourage you to inquire and ask questions to a real estate professional. This is your money, should you buy a home before the first of December. In addition, this credit does not require repayment and any credit that remains unused is refunded as a check to the buyer. Do you qualify?
