Whatever UK property portals try to do, US real estate lead generation market remains elusive. UK owned DotHomes is for sale now, because the owners claim that US real estate market wasn't really their goal. However just a short time ago DotHomes boasted that they go after Trulia big time.
There are several factors that impede British real estate portal invasion. Google is territorial and does not promote them in US searches as good as US portals. Next is delivering the message - takes a lot of money and TV ads to set a portal off the ground and attract nationwide audience. Another things are customer service and convenience of the website for its users. Uploading speed is a good consideration too.
Did anybody hear of Primelocation or Findaproperty? I am sure some did, but not too many. So good luck UK!
I am going to give away a very interesting SEO secret today. Here it is.
Google likes to diversify first page website entries in competitive key words like: "your city real estate". So if you follow the pattern regularly you will see that Google allows certain PR and news websites get right into the middle of the page with an article about your business and a photograph. Other first page websites have only title, description and URL and you have title, description, URL to your article and PICTURE that attracts a lot of attention. Most of these article entries have a 24 - 48 hour life on the first page, but hey, if you write 8 articles about your business a month that is a lot of exposure on the first page. Make sure that your article title has first page key word first and then whatever you want to add about yourself. So just go ahead and do a little SEO rersearch of the most important local key word, then see the trend for articles that appear there to get your place in the first page sun.
