Camarillo's Home Improvment Stores

Home Improvment Stores in Camarillo

So you just bought a home in Camarillo, congratulations and may you build many happy memories in your new HOME.

Being a home owner has its sweet and bitter moments. Nonetheless it is true what they say: there is no place like home, and you would probably do almost anything to protect and restore your home.

As you are in the process of becoming a home owner you may hear from other home owners that for the next few months home repair stores are going to be your second home! You may even receive a few gift cards as a house warming gift from these types of stores.

In Camarillo there are a few home improvement stores available for most of your home projects:

B & B Do it Center

Camarillo's Do it CenterLocated at 698 Mobile Ave. and open 7 days a week: Monday-Friday 6:30am-9:00pm Saturday 7:00am-9:00pm Sunday 7:30am-8:00pm

If you are looking for a small store, a quick place to get in and get out, or if you need a common tool for your home project, B & B Do it Center is the place you probably want to check out first.  B & B prices are higher than the warehouse stores, but the excellent service and mid-town convenience, and very helpful staff more than make up for that.

This store specializes in electrical supplies, hardware, lawn and garden.

It is better to call in advance to ask the Center’s friendly staff if they have what you need on stock. (805) 388-1067.

Camarillo Plumbing & PaintCamarillo Plumbing & Paint

Located at 2401 E. Ventura Blvd and open 6 days a week: Monday-Friday 7:15am-5:00pm and Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm

Camarillo Plumbing & Paint has been in business since 1961 and relies heavily on the great reputation they have built around Camarillo.

I have had one interaction with this company through a client and was particularly impressed with their professionalism and punctuality.

The store specializes in heating and air conditioning, plumbing supplies, and paint supplies.

For more information you may want to call: (805) 482-8963.

One last thing, don’t forget to visit the store during Halloween for an awesome haunted house tour.

Harbor Freight Tools

Camarillo Harbor FreightLocated at 3491 Mission Oaks Blvd and open 7 days a week: Monday-Friday 8:00am-7:00pm Saturday: 8:30am-6:00pm Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm.

This is my husband’s and my inventor son’s store when looking for tools that they need to develop new skills. Before investing hundreds or thousands of dollars on the brand name tool, harbor freight’s models allow for fairly inexpensive exploration into new tool types.  They do have professional-grade tools as well, but having a big range of prices is convenient. I have been in the store a couple of times and every time was greeted and assisted by the wonderful staff.

Harbor Freight specializes in professional brand name tools, automotives, and air tools.

The occasional parking lot sales tend to attract tool enthusiasts for all around Ventura County.

For more information about the store’s inventory you can call: (805) 445-4791.

Home Depot in CamarilloCamarillo's Home Depot

Located at 401 W Ventura Blvd. open 7 days a week: Monday-Saturday: 6:00am-10:00pm Sunday: 7:00am-9:00pm.

Contractors, new home owners, home owners with remodeling projects, garden lovers, and tool lovers are the regular shoppers at Home Depot. I have spent hours in our local Home Depot and remember the joy of Camarillo’s residents the day we heard the news that our city was to have its own store.

For more information about the store and class please call: (805) 389-9918.

Relocating to Camarillo, Ventura County

Moving to Camarillo, Ventura County

Relocating to a new State, County, City, or even a new neighborhood within your own town can be difficult and overwhelming for your family. There are many books, movies, and other activities that your whole family can share to reduce the pain of your big move. However, when the big day arrives, no matter how prepared emotionally, financially, or strategically you feel you are, there still seems to be a huge degree of uncertainly in your plans.the world

My parents were not in the military, but my life has moved me around the world quite a bit.  I have lived on three continents by no choice of my own. I have learned to adjust to different environments and learn the local laws of the land as quickly as I could read the language they spoke in that land.

I realized from an early age that saying goodbye to friends and family is not forever. There are ties stronger than land that bind us together, namely, Love.

It was on my last journey that I fell in love with a young man from Southern California and was introduced to the place he called HOME, Ventura County. I have adopted his Home as my own Home now.

Ventura County Beaches: Live, Surf, and Play

Last week our friends invited us to spend a few days with them at their beach house located on one of Ventura County's best Beaches, Faria Beach.

The days we visited this serene and majestic beach the weather was at its best. We woke up at dawn, 5:15 am, to take a peaceful walk on the beach. We watched our children play in the sand, surf, dig, kayak all day and discover a new window to look at the beauty of life. At night time we took another stroll on the beach under the moonlight.

There are many beach communities in Ventura County where home owners either live at their property all year long or rent out their home for parts of the year. As I was showing homes to a client in Silverstrand Beach this weekend I met a gentleman who informed me that he has lived in his beach house for over 5 years now and commutes to Beverly Hills everyday for work, a 65 mile drive one way!!!!

Map

Ventura County Beaches are famous for their surfing points and attraction. Life seems to be on a different gear once you are at the beach. So close your eyes and imagine waking up and falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves, breathing in the clean and refreshing ocean breeze. If you like what you are hearing and you long for the peacefulness of the beach then give me a call.

Thank you Camarillo for a Great 2008 Street Fair

The 2008 Camarillo Street Fair kicked off with a day of music, food, and fair rides. My enthusiastic daughters and I arrived at the Street Fair around 6:30 p.m. and met up with the rest of our friends and family members. Even though my daughters had been looking forward to the rides, we spent most of the night dancing with the rest of Camarillo's citizens. I don't think the girls were disappointed though; on that Friday, the opening night, my 11-year-old had her first, official, public dance with a young man.

Earlier in the evening, the country music lovers danced along to the music of Caught Red Handed.

Caught Red Handed

As the night settled in, the music of the 50's, performed by Ronnie & the Classics, had the whole crowd up and rocking. It was in this crowd that my daughter found her dancing partner. The young handsome man was swift on his feet and had my daughter on her knees! We danced, and danced till the band ran out of songs.

Thank you Camarillo! 2008's Annual Street Fair was fabulously energizing. The community is already looking forward to next year.
