I have come to realize that some of my buyers (those I have been working with for many, many months) have become dependant on my company. They speak about how they are going to miss my company after they find a home. Try as I may to explain to them that I remain in touch with all of my clients and actually become very great friends with most.
Because of this I have began to wonder if perhaps some buyers are reluctant to find a home because they fear they will then end the companionship. I will need to assure some of my buyers that I will still be a part of their lives after they had made their purchase. After all it is in that relationship and trust that we get our referrals.
This is a great buy on Santa Fe's Eastside on a wonderful .47 acre lot. The home is priced below appraisal (appraised in 2007 for $700,000) Plans approved by the Historic Review Board for home expansion, guesthouse and two car garage. MLS #902589 $598,000.

El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail
Colonists from Mexico and Spain entered New Mexico from 1598 until about 1885 along El Camino Real. Many of the people living in the Southwest today are decendents of these early settlers along the trail, extending from Mexico City and the port city of Veracruz to Santa Fe and beyond, a distance of over 1,500 miles. Today, Interstate 25, from Las Cruces to Santa Fe, closely parallels the route of El Camino Real through New Mexico.
El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail is a part of the United States National Historic Trail system. El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (Spanish for "The Royal Road of the Interior") was a 1600 mile (2560 kilometer) long trade route between Mexico City, Mexico and Santa Fe, New Mexico from 1598 to 1882. The 404 mile (646 kilometer) section of the route within the United States was proclaimed as a National Historic Trail on October 13, 2000. The trail is overseen by both the National Park Service and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

Recently I had a seller who wanted to drastically lower the price of their home. We did and we changed the demographic of the people coming to see the property. We began getting very very low offers. So I recommended we bring the price up abit - that worked and better offers followed.
I have another listing that has done some major improvements and we have decided it is time to raise the price. We had been the lowest in the area in price per square foot and found people were looking for the faults in the home which were very minor and very few. I suspect by raising the price we will be reaching a different group of more qualified buyers.
So what does this have to do with real estate - simple networking. I have made quite a few connections and each of those movies needs locations. It is time to think outside of the box and look for other avenues to promote our listings. .... AND Do you have that listing for that incredible million dollar home that is furnished and sitting empty - How About Having it Rented to One of the Stars of the Film or to be used for a few days for a location shoot.
Many of your states on their websites will have a film office site. You can set yourself up as a location manager or scout. Who knows locations better than us? We are out there all of the time scouting that perfect home for someone - well here is another way to use that resource. The pay - pretty darn good.
Many years ago I, at the tender age of 13, I was asked to be in a local movie, Billy Jack. That led to Red Sky at Morning and then onto Running Wild and Showdown. It was then I decided to pursue other interests leaning towards the fashion arena.
Well needless to say several years ago I was in a position to accept another movie, Buffalo Girls. I had so much fun I have been doing background for many of our locally made movies and television shows, Swing Vote, In Plain Sight, Crazy Heart, and The Spy Next Door. I will soon be filming an upcoming series called Locked, and have been asked to play the main role in a soon to be shot horror/suspense film. I will work hard perfecting my screaming and scared look.
Here is a shot from some small productions I did.
