According to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), people who ride public transportation rather than drive cars can save an average of $9,167 per year!*
The APTA's monthly Transit Savings Report calculates the average annual and monthly savings for public transit riders and examines how an individual can save money by taking public transportation instead of driving a car.
The survey's findings reported that transit riders can save an average of $764 per month. This savings amount is based on the cost of the national averages for parking and driving in addition to the national average gas price of $2.628 per gallon for self-serve regular gasoline as of August 7th.
According to the APTA, public transportation is a safe and affordable way to travel. Not to mention, public transportation's immediate, positive impact on reducing an individual's overall carbon footprint as well as America's dependence on foreign oil.

Award-winning master planner and developer, Costa Pacific Communities is known for designing Transit-Oriented Developments (TOD) that are built for people - not cars. At each Costa Pacific community, the winding paths and quiet, tree-lined streets are perfect for walking or riding a bike. The hidden rear garages help minimize the impact of automobiles. And the convenience of mass transit - including light rail stations and bus stops - provides an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to driving. It all comes together to create a safer, healthier, and more connected way of life for all of our residents - and, in short, a very friendly way to live.

Villebois is unmatched in its commitment to community.
This commitment starts in the Villebois Village Center, the hub of the neighborhood, where a bustling mix of row homes, loft-style condominiums and retail space will embody the character of a European village.
At the heart of the neighborhood, sits Piazza Villebois - a lively plaza and dedicated community space for area residents to sit and enjoy their morning coffee, spend hours chatting with old friends or while away the afternoon on the bocce ball courts. Piazza Villebois will also be a location for popular events such as live musical entertainment, the Villebois Sunday Market and seasonal festivals.
Additionally, if you're in the market to invest in commercial real estate in Wilsonville, Oregon, the Villebois Village Center is the prime location. Soon the neighborhood will have its own hot spots, along with commercial Villebois spaces such as offices, retail shops, restaurants, sidewalk cafés and other conveniences.
And while Villebois retail is being completed, you can find incredible places to eat in Portland, which was recently named one of the country's best restaurant cities by The New York Times. Because Portland is such a short drive or ride away on the WES Commuter Rail, you're always close to everything you want or need.

Oregon's leading newspaper, The Oregonian, recently featured the Villebois community in Wilsonville in an article promoting the official opening of the Rain Garden Apartments, a 29-unit housing complex for adults with mental illness in the Villebois neighborhood.
The Rain Garden Apartments, along with two group homes and two apartment complexes for adults with mental illness, sits in the award-winning "urban village". According to experts, Villebois is the first community in the country where community housing has been incorporated into a larger master-planned community from its inception. The integration of community housing for people with disabilities in a state-of-the-art neighborhood like Villebois puts Oregon on the map when it comes to having the most progressive model of community living.
At Villebois, community housing consists of homes where residents live "family-style" with assistance from on-site staff, and apartments where residents enjoy a greater level of independence in a supportive environment. All of the community housing at Villebois is consistent with the design and size of surrounding properties, and adheres to Homeowner Association standards for architecture and permitted uses.
