Blogging is a hot topic and I have certainly ranted and raved about the good, bad and ugly. But when it comes to pure stupidity, this one above is RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT!
Please people, don't pretend you know it all about SEO. There are professionals out there (like me) who can coach you and guide you on NOT putting up stupid crap like this that will get you banned from Google. There are also firms out there that specialize in SEO work for temp to perm positions and the SEO Guru's here really ARE SEO and PPC Gurus.
I'll cover a few of them in my next blog post and include what the REAL Cost of SEO should you plan for.

Only in America can this kind of thing happen.
Martha Stweart, was convicted on all four (4) felony charges against her on March 5th, 2004.
The jury, as did many Americans who tuned in, REJECTED the notion that she had no inside involvement or direct knowledge in the ImClone stock fiasco. We all know she lied.
REALTORS are sales and marketing professionals. Or at least, we should ALL try to become better at doing our jobs.
The DMA is the Direct Marketing Association and they too, have a large national trade show much like we do for REALTOR Expo, or Inman Connect.
As it turns out, Martha Stewart, Convicted Felon, is slated to deliver the Keynote address for the event.
What does this prove? That in America, anyone with the money, the power and a solid Press Relations (PR) company and / or ad agency firm can make Americans forget the fact that she got busted with her hand in the cookie jar. She was caught stealing. She was caught lying. Her integrity, her character and everything of what she was and her mom style cooking show was instantly erased on March 5th, 2004 at 3 pm when the jury handed in their verdict.
Now, she's back and doing the Keynote for the Direct Marketing Association. Only in America can this kind of thing happen.
Remember the insider trading scam created by Stuart Wolff of Homestore.com? Wolff was convicted of conspiracy, filing false statements, SEC fraud and was sentenced to 15 years in prison and paying back $5 million in restitution. Well before Wolff spent a lot of time in jail, his attorneys managed to get an appeal heard by the 9th Circuit Court (of Appeals) and the Defense attorneys learned that US District Court's Jude Percy Anderson financial interest in AOL was enough for the Judge to recuse themself. But that didn't happen.
So Wollf, like Martha Stuart is a free person, but in Wolff's case he is confined to his home and wears a permanent ankle bracelet.

As I end my week, I try to end it on a positive note, but the fact is... I probably can't on this one.
I am fortunate to be alive. 15 years ago, I was on a motorcycle and I remember nothing about the crash. I just remember waking up in the hospital, foggy. And I remember tubes stuck out of my arms and my family was at my bedside. I crushed my skull, and a chunk of my kneecap was gone.
Somebody up there liked me and gave me a 2nd chance to do something with my life. Today, aside from a limp and being a few pounds soggy around the middle... I'm fine. A life changing incident like that can make anyone a cynic and you somehow get an attitude that you just don't have time for nonsense, crap, disinformation and white noise.
I enjoy my work, and I like showing REALTORS what they can do with technology to improve their visibility, increase more leads and pocket more commissions. I am known for NOT sugar coating things or white washing things.
Such is the case where I had to recently call a colleague here out on the carpet for posting duplicate content on ActiveRain.
Content was word smithed from another New Mexico website. Now the same agent is word smithing content from Wiki and the same text they post on their Broker website.
All in the name of what? Active Rain Points. Pure and simple.
At the end of the day, most people with a brain between their ears would appreciate knowing that at the end of the day, their blogging experiences here on ActiveRain would empower them. Inform them. Enlighten them or educate them.
Where does posting information about your family, the local tourism market or reposting paragraph after paragraph after paragraph of the same content you already post on your broker website?
This kind of blogging to get points is mindless, and wastes everybody's time.
If you are going to BLOG, do it with style and passion. We're not stupid out here. If you are going to BLOG, give us something we can experience from you as a REALTOR. Share your experiences with us. Don't waste our time showing us the same stuff we can already get elsewhere. You've already proven that you can take content from one site, word smith and repost in and get Active Rain points.
This is no magical feat. We can see that you have mastered the skills of Copy, Cut and Paste. Congratulations. You've just graduated from PC Basics 101.
Now stop copying content and go sell some homes.

Okay, I got a good number of men and women REALTORS coming back with interesting comments about using SEX to help sell Real Estate.
So here's one for the ladies. This card, along with the other one is advertising properties from the same firm. They have a few offices in California and from my point of view, I like their "Think Different," attitude.
Now it's confession time. We created these postcards for a very interesting and progressive client in California.
When our client first brought up the ideas to use Sex, we immediately called CAR (California Association of REALTORS). Apparently, there's no laws on books regarding advertising using attractive men or women.
But if you think these postcards are hot, wait until you hear the radio ads. Depending on the okay-dokie from our client, we will post them here and let you know what the results were after 30 days of using this new Sex Sells Real Estate campaign.
