I received my NC Broker's license in 1979. I received my degree in 1980 from Appalachian State University (Three time national champions) with a four year degree in Real Estate. If you think things are bad now, in the early eighties the interest rates were around 16%.

Most of the last 28 years has been in general brokerage. However during the 90's I was a licensed real estate appraiser. For eight years I was the on-site agent at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, the second largest planned community in North Carolina. In 2002 I opened Wakefield Realty to offer my services to all of the new home customers who had purchased over the previous years. I have a vast experience helping customers navigate through the building process. I also have personal experience developing small residential neighbothoods.

As sales have slowed over the past year, I accidently stumbled on to something that will certainly help every realtor on ActiveRain. I had six years experience as a licensed appraiser. I have much more knowledge of the appraisal process than most realtors.

I spent 8 years as the on-site agent at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, NC. Most of that time was assisting customers building their dream home. Helping them every step of the way dealing with lot selection, builder interviews, going over plans and selections, trouble shooting problems that arise until closing.

I also have personal experience developing small residential communities. Including land acquisition, zoning, planning, road construction, adding gas, water, electric, etc., until DOT approval to take over the streets.
