Sundial Film Festival - Coming To Redding CA

The first annual Sundial Film Festivalwill take place here in Redding California on March 13th, 14th and 15th.

This locally sponsored event will feature Short Films and Digital Still Photography that enlighten and reflect the diversity of the artists, residents and natural resources in Northern California and Southern Oregon.

It's being sponsored by Redding Rotary Club and will be held at the beautiful Cascade Theater.

If you haven't been to a film festival, I highly recommend it.  You get to see the creative work in documentary or animated format.  Who knows, some of these young film makers may be on the big screen one day!

My daughter took a Film Festival at Grant School and one of the assignments was to attend an actual film festival.  We saw Semper Fi - it was wonderful.

You won't see these films in the mainstream theatre, but you will be entertained.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults or $10 for students 17 and under.  Weekend passes are also available.

Show Times are as follows:

Is it Financial Hardship or a Cash Flow Problem??

The current economy has thrown millions of Americans into a cash flow nightmare.  As credit card bills pile up and mortgages fall behind, each day more and more Americans are faced with choosing between putting food on the table or pay the mortgage or credit card bills.

One of the criteria for getting relief is having a valid financial hardship SO -

What constitutes a financial hardship?

Simply put, a financial hardship is a life event that significantly lowers income OR increases expenses to the point that minimum payments cannot be maintained.

Examples of Reduced Income Hardship include:

  • due to change of employment and annual gross income reduced by approximately (25% -50% or more)change of employer that affected annual income and making less now
  • company downsizing
  • commission based program only
  • teacher or seasonal employee only works 9-10 months a year and not a full year
  • works part time now due to loss of full time job
  • single income household now since partner/spouse lost employment

Sometimes a financial hardship is caused by medical or life situations that cause us to become overextended.  Examples include:

  • medical issues...had to use credit cards to pay off medical bills or no health
  • insurance
  • partner or spouse lost employment and had to use their credit cards for cost of living and
  • pay mortgage/rent, utilities, keep other credit cards open
  • had to help children or family members with financial issues such as legal fees or college
  • tuition,
  • had to pay property taxes, or other unexpected large bill or payment (be specific)
  • single income household due to partner/spouse losing their job in the past 1-2 years

Finally increased expenses can cause financial a financial hardship.  These include:

  • unexpected and unplanned medical expenses
  • an increase in the mortgage payment due to the mortgage adjusting upward
  • a significant increase in interest rates making it impossible to keep making minimum payments.

A Financial Hardship is not:

  • the fact that you house is worth less than the mortgage and you don't want to keep paying
  • the guy who bought a flat screen TV, a new car, and 300 DVDs who just doesn't want to handle his debt
  • the kid who raked up his credit card bill on iTunes and plans on doing the same thing later
  • the loafer that wants to go on vacation for a year but cannot afford his credit card payments while he sunbathes.

Sometimes its a fine line, sometimes drastic action such as short sales, debt settlement or bankruptcy need to be considered.

Other times, it's debt can be handled by getting a grip on what is coming in and what is going out and finding credible solutions to lower debt so that cash flow increases.

The solution is to seek help from a professional who is experienced in reviewing individual situations.  There is no one size fits all solution to managing debt.  What works for you might not work for your neighbor.  If you find yourself struggling to make payments, get a qualified opinion sooner, rather than later.

Last Minute Strategy to Stop Foreclosure - Produce The Note

Good Morning America ran a special report on a last minute strategy to stop Foreclosures this morning.

It's Called: PRODUCE THE NOTE

The basics: Produce the Note encourages homeowners to make the lender prove that they have the actual authority to foreclose. The only way to prove this is by producing the original promissory note. Because of the way mortgages were packaged and resold in recent years, it is very difficult for the lender to come up with the note. It is likely that they will eventually find it in their electronic database, but in the meant the foreclosure is delayed.

Watch the Video Here: The Consumer Warning Network

The stragegy varies based on whether you live in a Judicial or Non-Judical state.

Judicial States (those states where a lawsuit is required to foreclose) require that the homeowner simply file a request with the court.

In Non-Judicial states such as Callifornia, it's a little harder. The homeowner must actually file a lawsuit against the lender and have the lender properly served. More planning is involved and a lawyer should be consulted - but hey, it's your home! Here are the details for using the strategy in non-judicial states.

Pass this information along so anyone you know that is searching for strategies to buy time and stop foreclosures. Tell em to PRODUCE THE NOTE

Scrambled Egg Breakfast Pizza - Fast, Healthy and Delicious

If you are like me , your mornings are crazy busy.  We've reached a point where my kids have stopped eating breakfast because they drag themselves out of bed at the last minute.  There is barely time to get dressed and out door, let alone eat breakfast.  It's one of the top things that I want to change this year, so I've been on a quest to find easy but nutritious breakfasts that I get my kids to eat.

This one was a hit:

Scrambled Egg Breakfast Pizza:

  • One  Small  Boboli Pizza CrustPizza Crusts
  • Grated Pizza Cheeze
  • 2 eggs scrambled
  • 1 package Oscar Meyer Bacon Bits (found in the deli section near lunch meats)

 Instuctions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Scramble the eggs  (you can do this the night before if you want, keep in a baggie in the frige)
  3. Sprinkle grated cheese to taste on Pizza Crust
  4. Top with scrambled egg
  5. Sprinkle bacon bits on top of eggs
  6. Place in pre-heated oven for 6 - 8 minutes.

Cut into quarters, place on napkin and let the kids eat.  My daughters response when she took her first bite:

YUM!!
