Since the election is only a few days away, I thought this was good food for thought. Make sure that , whoever you vote for, you read what they stand for, not what you hear in the ads! I can't remember the last time that there were so many campaign ads. Every ad that is on television has a counter ad that disputes the findings of the one before it. I'm just glad that the company I work for was bought out by a company with big pockets. Crazy times!

When the kids were little, they would get mad when something did not go their way. They would stick out their lower lip and give me that (pout) look! I'd get a big, cheesy grin on my face. At first, they would get even more frustrated with me and would try to get me to stop smiling. they would try so hard not to start laughing, but they always caved in, and I would get a big smile and a hug in the end. Always remember to smile.

I attended a funeral yesterday for one of my Grandmothers. One of the things that people talked about was her eyes. She would take your hand, kiss it, look you straight in the eye, and tenderly say "I love you". With that smile, and those eyes, she would make you melt. There were about 100 people in attendance and , as people stood up to talk about memories they shared, the smile and the eyes were always the main focus. The Pastor asked everyone in the audience to raise their hand if they had received this gift from her. Everyone simultaneously raised their hand and smiled. Grandma couldn't move around much in the end, but she didn't need too. She moved you with her smile and those beautiful eyes. Grandma never frowned in the mirror!

It's not our disadvantages or shortcomings that are ridiculous, but rather the studious way we try to hide them, and our desire to act as if they did not exist. (Giacomo Leopardi)

We all know that we are good at some things. We aslo know there are things that, try as we might, we just can't seem to master them. The ridiculous thing is that we try to hide them from ourselves. We don't admit to ourselves what we are struggling with. you should evaluate yourself and make a list of what you are accomplished in and what are your biggest challenges? Then find someone who needs help in an area that you are strong, and have that person hlep you in the area they are strongest. Once you admit it, you will be able to fix it.

During tough times, true champions, in any industry, will always stand out. We all have challenges that feel like they are robbing every ounce of our energy. For me personally, what I do after each challenge is question myself "How could I have done better?" I never allow myself to ask "why me?"
