A friend sent me a link to an article on the New York Times today and after reading the article, I was totally inspired and very impressed.
Christina Salway and John Moskowitz bought a property in Sparrow Bush, NY, for less than $100,000. The corky cottage was a fixer upper. Neither of the two, had any experience with renovations or construction, but they tackled most of the construction on their own with $10,000 as their budget and less than $3,000 for their decorating expenses. New owners aquired most of their "treasures" i.e. appliances, furniture etc. through Craigslist, yard sales, on the street, and through family. Who says you need to spend a fortune when it comes to renovations and design...just need a little creativity and a lot of hardwork.

When I hear of stories such as this one, it makes me a believer that nothing is impossible, as long as you put your mind to it. To read more about the article, please click here.

Hi Everyone! I would like to remind those crafty sisters and brothers out there who enjoy homemade goodies, that the 2nd Annual Renegade Craft Fair is coming up on July 18 and 19 in San Francisco. There will be tons of talented artists and crafters of different caliber, from all over the world. There will be cool booths where unique goodies will be showcased-it'll be like Etsy, but in real life. The best part is that the event is free (oh yes, we all love free, don't we?), but bring your wallets if you like to shop. There are two individuals that I am particularly excited to meet. I have bought quite a few items from this corky lady here and I think this cute lady makes the most fun, darling and creative items. Hope you come out and join us-maybe we can shop together. If you would like more information, please click here. Hope to see you there!
