Cinco Ranch celebrated its 21st Birthday on February 21, 2012. Newland Communities celebration of Cinco’ Ranch’s 21st birthday was quite a success. It was quite a spread as well.
There were over 100 people attending the celebration. The event was open to all Realtors. There were 21 Prizes given away.
There were appetizers with beer, wine and the special drink called the “Cinco-tini”. This new “Cinco-tini” was a beautiful turquoise color and the flavor was one of Sweet Tarts; it was yummy but strong. There was another martini in the flavor of Birthday Cake that was also wonderful. The Martinis were served from an ice sculpture that had the Cinco Ranch logo on it! The lady in the picture is Lana Herff she is the person behind the scenes that makes it all happen! Thank you Lana for your wonderful ideas!
Happy 21st Birthday Cinco!

Saturday February 11, 2012 was the 4th Wine Social of the Season for the Grand Lake Ladies Club and The Cinco Ranch Ladies Club; the 1st for the year 2012. As this was so close to Valentines Day, our hostess Claire Wakeman decided to make it a couple’s Wine Tasting.
Claire is an awesome hostess; she has had other wine socials and had a terrific Holiday party. People were asked to wear something red as we were celebrating Valentines Day.
The couples were asked to bring 2 bottles of their favorite champagne or wine and a small appetizer to share. There was so much good food and wine. My favorite appetizers were the chicken meatballs, stuffed grape leaves and the lamb chops that the host made on the grill. They were so good. My favorite wines were a Mumm Sparkling Red Wine, Veuve Clicquot and a South African Cabernet. They were many great wines there it was hard to choose. Some one cleared away the South African Wine Cabernet before I could get a hold of it for more specifics as to what winery it came from.
This was a really fun tasting with many people and lots to eat and drink.

I was sitting here in the office wondering what to write about; writer’s block I guess. I was looking through several Katy magazines and nothing grabbed me, until I saw an article about the top 10 most romantic movies and songs. I thought as it is close to Valentines Day I was wondering why not ask the Active Rain members what songs or movies do they think are the most romantic?
The article had 10 movies and some honorable mentions and some songs. I am not sure I agree with the list on both accounts. It sounds like they just asked the people working for the magazine; they said they had a tough time narrowing it down.
I think that sometimes a song or a movie does not necessarily have to be romantic it just reminds you of a special time in your life that makes your heart sing and puts a smile on your face. So, I thought I would ask the Active Rain Members “What are your favorite romantic movies and songs?”

Tuesday, February 22, 2012 the monthly Grand Lakes Latin Ladies club will meet at Patricia Garcia Cardenas home. She asks that you only bring something to drink whether it is wine, champagne, soda, juice. Patricia is going to prepare the entire meal; as she is a chef. Yummy, I cannot wait for this one! To heck with the diet!
I am looking forward to this as Patricia is a new member and I have not been to her home before. I love seeing people’s homes and how they have them decorated.
This is called the Latin Ladies club as only Spanish is spoken at these events; English is allowed from time to time as we have some ladies who are not from Spanish descent and they are trying to not loose their Spanish speaking skills. This club is a lot of fun. We know there are many ladies relocated from Spanish speaking countries because of the proximity to Houston’s Energy Corridor this is a great way to meet others.

See you there!
