Things I have learned from my 4 year old.....A day in the life of Matthew.

1. There is no such thing as child-proofing your house. So don't even waist your time.
   
2. A 4 years-old's voice is louder than 100 adults in a crowded restaurant.
   
   
3. Play Dough and Microwave should never be used in the same sentence.
   
   
4. Soccerballs make marks on ceilings and walls
   
   
5. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on.
   
   
6. When using the ceiling fan as a bat you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit.
   
   
7. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
   
   
8. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
   
   
9. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh;" it's already too late.
   
   
10. Toilet bowl cleaner mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
    
    
11. A 4 year old can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 40 year old man says they can only do it in the movies.
    
12. Legos will pass through the digestive tract of a four year old.
    
    
13. Duplos will not.
    
    
14. Gorilla glue will glue anything you don't want glued.
    
    
15. McGyver can teach us many things we don't want to know.
    
    
16. Pool filters do not like Jello. And it just has a bad taste to it.
    
    
17. VCR's do not eject PB&J sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do. And they don't even come close to fitting in DVD players.
    
    
18. Garbage bags do not make good cat carriers. But the dogs think it is funny.
    
    
19. You probably do not want to know what that odor is.
    
    
20. Always look in the oven before you turn it on.
    
    
21. Plastic toys do not like ovens but it is fun to watch them melt.
    
    
22. The fire department in Geneva has at least a 4 minute response time to our house.
    
    
23. The spin cycle on the washing machine does not makeworms dizzy. The dryer just gets them warm.
    
    
24. It will however make cats dizzy.
    
    
25. Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
    
    
26. Quiet does not necessarily mean don't worry. Even when he is sleeping I know he is planning the next days adventure.
    
    
27. Having a sense of humor will get you through most problems that your 4 year old gets into in a day...

That's right I asked you if you were an Edsel... some of you know what an Edsel is others don't. 1st and foremost and Edsel is a automobile that Ford Motor Company made from 1957-1959 model years 1958-1960. Edsel . 2nd.... after the failure of the Edsel auto it took on a whole new meaning "The word 'Edsel' became synonymous with failure," says Marshall Brain, the founder of Howstuffworks.com, who has written extensively about the Edsel.

He's not kidding. Look up Edsel in Webster's dictionary. The first definition is specific: "automobile produced (1957-1959) by the Ford Motor Company." The second is broader: "a product, project, etc. that fails to gain public acceptance despite high expectations, costly promotional efforts, etc."

So it brings me back to my question Are you an Edsel? Are you failing in your career, family life, social life, anything you do? If so what can you do to stop being an Edsel ?

The number one thing you need to do is admit you failed....yes I said it admit it. Everyone fails at something. I myself have failed at my career, family life, social life. everyone has failed something if they say they didn't they are liars plain and simple.

The second thing you need to do is pick yourself up brush yourself off and try it again. But this time learn from the mistakes you have made in the past. And don't make them again, try something different you already know what didn't work.

And like the Ford Motor Company they picked themselves up brushed off the Bad and continued on. Do you need an example Ford Mustang and the Ford F-150 just to name a few.

As for me...Lets just say I'm doing great and life is great, My career, family, and social life have never been better. why you ask?.....I learned from my mistakes....yes I still make them but I pick myself up and start over again and again I refuse to stay down.....peace zane

My son Matt goes to Madison Pre K School in Madison, Ohio and they are always sending papers home with him. Papers for this and papers for that, papers for anything you can think of......I think they alone have knocked off half the rain forest with the papers they have sent home. but that's a whole different post...
