A "complete criminal irony" bonehead award goes to an unidentified man in Cape Haze, FL. The man entered a local gas station, pulled out a knife, and demanded money. He then hopped into his car and fled. An alert customer immediately called 911. Deputies were summoned to the scene of the crime to investigate. As news of the crime quickly spread through the neighborhood, a newspaper carrier informed officers that the man who had robbed the gas station had run out of gas a few blocks away.

Although the San Antonio Real Estate market saw a decrease in total number of sales for the month of January, the total number of listings was at 11,763, making the inventory level under an 8 month supply, down from the peak inventory levels we experienced in 2008.
When we take into account the low interest rates, the continued job growth, and the affordability of the San Antonio Real Estate market I think we can all agree that our market is still strong and will continue to thrive in 2009. It's a great time to buy real estate in San Antonio!

Boerne Middle School South hosted the Hill Country UIL Academic Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2009. The meet was highly competitive with 11 area middle schools in participation including Alamo Heights, Boerne North, Boerne South, Cibolo, Fair Oaks, Floresville, Fredericksburg, Medina Valley, Pleasanton, Poteet, and Uvalde.
The Boerne Schools excelled once again with Fair Oaks winning 1st place overall for the 6th grade level. Boerne Middle School South dominated their competition earning 1st place overall for both the 7th and 8th grade levels. My daughter, Anitza Martins earned 1st place in the 7th grade oral reading - poetry.
The district competition will be on Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Pleasanton. Congratulations to all of the students and coaches who prepared for this tournament. Way to go Boerne South!
