Alstead New Hampshire Harvest Auction being held, on Saturday the 9th of October 2010 in Alstead, New Hampshire there is a 38th Annual Harvest Auction being held. The Third Congregational Church UCC, which is located at 14 River Street in Alstead, New Hampshire.


The auction will begin at 5:00 P.M., the Third Congregational Chuch doors will open at 4:00 P.M.


There will be refreshments for sale for folks to enjoy. Folks can dropp off items for the auction between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. on Saturday. To make a donation to the auction please call Phil Warren at 603-835-2490

Alstead Bees here Bees over there-Beekeeping Workshop Alstead New Hampshire, did you know one of the ways the American Indians back in the 1700's knew the white man was moving even closer to their homes? It had to with the American Indians would see beekeepers beehives. The bee was not a native insect of America, the white man bought the bees with them.

On Saturday the 11th of September 2010 Charles Andros, the former New Hampshire and Vermont Apiary Inspector, will be holding a beekeeping workshop. The workshop will be held at 18 MacLean Road, in Alstead, New Hampshire. The beekeeping workshop will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.

Topics of discussion at the beekeeping workshop, will include treatment of nosema and mites, winter preparations, winter protein and carbohydrate supplements and making beeswax handcreams.

Bring a veil, if you have one, seeing that Andros will be opening some bee colonies. If it should rain, the beekeeping workshop will be held indoors.
