I live in Berlin, NH and like most of us no matter where you live in the State of NH we sometimes take what the State of NH has to offer for granted. Yesterday was a great day in NH. My family and I decided to go to a spring for water, just outside Gorham, NH. The spring is just after Wildcat Mountain & Mt. Washington.
My wife mentioned the time she spent as a youngster with her family at Dolly Copp Rest Area. We stopped and walked on the rocks of the Peadody River with my son and enjoyed the sun & views. We then traveled to Dolly Copp campground ( 1st time there) and took a ride through the campground and were amazed how big it was. What a great place! We then decided to take Pinkam B Road ( never traveled this road before) from the campground to the bottom of Gorham Hill.
My wife mentioned a cemetary in Randolph, NH ( never visited this site before) that had some historic grave stones, off we went! We traveled to Durand Road ( never traveled this road before) and viewed some beautiful homes & cottages. We also came across a pond with a beach, playground & diving raft, we both never knew it was there! We visited the cemetary and it was amazing and had spectacular views of the mountains.
We then visited my folks to discuss our travels and made our way home. Like the beginning of this post stated. We take things for granted that are right in our backyard. In a span of say 2 hours and just minutes from my home in Berlin, NH my family and I visited areas we never have been before. It was a great day! Get out and enjoy NH!
