The Upper Valley officially kicked off the selling season with the 30th annual Upper Valley Home & Life Show in Hanover, NH. We had a great turn out, old friends and new ones stopped by to sign up for our grand prize, a Bar Top Table with four chairs! The winner was Janice Scruton of Woodsville, below is a picture of Janice with Richard Atherley, our home show master of ceremonies. We also had the debut of our new REMAX Upper Valley balloon which we'll be using at open houses and other special events. As part of our commitment to the community we also donated an entire Home Show booth to Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption Agency. After a brief life of racing, greyhounds are typically put down. This agency takes in these wonderful dogs and finds homes for each and every dog. Unfortunately there are too many dogs, before the Home Show there were close to 106 dogs that needed homes! Even if you can not take in one of these great dogs, they could definitely use a cash donation for food and vet bills. Should you be so inclined to help out this wonderful organization please send an email to Sharon Thomas of Fast Friends, sharron_thomas@hotmail.com .
This home show marks the 20th show I've participated in and found this years displays exceptional. I was very impressed with all the solar energy products. Going "Green" is becoming more popular and I personally think its a great idea. The show had solar water heaters, solar electric, energy efficient light bulbs and even hot tubs. Going green is not only good for the environment its good for the pocket book too.
