About Lincoln's Loon Mountain Ski Area

Monday morning mountain sunrise.

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

What do you do the first Monday after rolling your clock back an hour? I decided to run up to the Franconia Notch State park and watch the sun climb the mountains. The Moon was still out when I jumped out of bed...and the day is off and running.

Just the top of Mount Lafayette shone the sun as I entered the Notch park way in Lincoln New Hampshire.

The Beavers have been very busy at Profile lake...but I didn't see any creatures at this hour on the morning.

There is a monument that marks the spot where you would stand for the best view of "The Old Man of The Mountain"...before his sudden demise ten years ago. The Profile (thus profile lake) stood where it was noticed by the early settlers it graces the New Hampshire quarter. But alas the Granite face tumbled to the valley below. All that remains for now is this plaque (with plans for a unique sculpture still the the works) and the distant view of the place the old man once stood...facing south down the valley.

The stone face stands bare with no profile left to stare.

On the Franconia End of the Notch is Cannon Mountain ski area (state owned) it is rugged and the people that ski there ski hard and don't care about fashion. No more proof is needed to illustrate that point than the fact, that the locals climbed the slopes last week strapped on their "ROCK SKIS" (the ones you aren't worried about wrecking)...and skied in what little snow we got (from our October snow storm). Yes I said hiked up just to ski down with less than a foot of coverage...these are hardy (perhaps fool hardy) folks - that did it for bragging rights.

I had to be in the office by 9 am for real estate appointments...as I said these are hardy folks and we all get up early and get underway. If you are looking for a Realtor to represent you in the White Mountains of New Hampshire give me a call. We still have a few Winter 6 month seasonal's to fill, I have a new short sale listing offered at half it's original purchase price, and some very nice condominiums with great recreational facilities for sale in the Loon Mountain and Cannon Mountain ski resort areas.

Sun coming up...and it's off to the office.

Didn't see any rock climbers out today...but it was in the low 20's a 7am ...so maybe a bit later.

Season change. But the White mountains of New Hampshire stays the same

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

Over the years I find myself going to the familiar spots and look out points...especially when there is a blue sky day and the photo op is just right. The funny thing about that is, in time I have ended up with similar shots from the same spot in many different seasons.

..

The fall foliage gives the heart shaped tree a vibrant color, the deep Green of summer is lush, late fall proves to be the undoing for the leaves of this beautiful tree. But I'll be back to shot you when the snow covers you too.

Starting in the late fall things get very brown...with a touch of white on the 5,000+ foot peaks as a sign of winter.

Just two weeks prior a mix of winter and fall joined to illustrate the color of the two seasons as the merge.

April of 2011 - the only color on the trees are the evergreens - pine and hemlock and all else is bare.

July 2011 - The white mountains are a lush green again. If you want to change your point of view wait a little while and see what the season brings.

New Hampshire offering beautiful scenery through out all the seasons of the year...Our state motto is " live free or die" We have no state income tax, or broad based sales tax...the lowest crime rate in the nation and some very cool lakes and mountains to play in and around through out the year.

Use the MLS icon button at the bottom of this post to search properties in the 44 towns of Grafton county...From the Dartmouth college region - through the lakes and in to the White mountain National Forest area we cover the best part of our beautiful state.

Foliage Fades to white...White Mountains of NH.

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

After the fall. Comes our next favorite Season...Winter, better known as ski season in the White mountains of New Hampshire. I only have a handful of 6 month ski season rentals remaining...most have been booked for the season by families securing their winter accommodations.

What a great combination of Color and just a touch of snow - to let us know this too shall pass.

It is very hard to see - but the peak of Mount Moosilauke is wearing a snow cap. Just a hint of things to come.

Mount Liberty - the very last of the foliage fades to the dusting of snow. Are only visible on the summits above 4,000 feet. The three pictures I chose from Lafayette - Moosilauke and Liberty are all closer to 5,000 footers...and always the first to show - snow and the white caps every year. I'll be seeing you on the slopes soon.

Looking for a slope side condo to purchase or rent long term give me a call...hope you enjoyed my photos.

Sun up and a burst of foliage - Open House Sunday - Loon Mt NH

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

Northern New England is a blaze of color, but weekends mean business in the real estate profession. My photo journal is often relegated to early morning observations and the short time before sunset when I'm home again.

Here are the sights from this Realtors window - in the White mountains of New Hampshire, I hope you enjoy them.

Sundown on a Saturday night...after a long Builders show case and two offers today, my reward is my living room window view.

6 am - Sunday Morning the early bird catches the worm - I'll have coffee and skip the worms today, a counter came in over night and I've got to get to work on that.

7 am...Emails answered and time for a quick work out before heading to the office for another fun filled day of real estate in the resort business (where every weekend is important).

8 am and time is a-wasting...appointments start at 9 and I have much to do before the open sign is hung on the door for the day (Sunday of Columbus Day weekend...do you know where your Realtor is / I'm at work).

8:15 One last shot (zoomed in slightly) before I hit the door.

By the Way The Builders open house is 11- 4 Today and Monday (Columbus day) slope side at Loon Mountain if you would like to attend give me a call -or- just follow the signs to the Granite State Builder's Parade of Homes off the Kancamagus Highway -Rte 112 in Lincoln New Hampshire.

Hope You Enjoyed Today’s Foliage Update

One of the two Featured Custom homes our Parent company is show-casing this weekend at the Parade of Homes...Hemlock Dr. slope side on Loon's South mountain ski slopes (ski to your door access) New Hampshire.
