The New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) will become the largest city in NH as more than 100,000 people will flow into the state for Sylvania 300 Sprint cup Race. Everywhere you looked there were people doing the "SUN dance" in the middle of a ocean of RV's as the weatherman had forecast a weekend of rain. We have sure seen more than our fair share of rain this year. I have been trying to broker a deal for Texas to take our rain and they share their warmth but so far no takers...The front has set up further south keeping the rain South so it looks like we will be spared a total rain out.
On Tuesday motor homes, lear jets, drivers and their haulers started making their way to the Loudon NH race track. Visitors from around the country and the world were enjoying everything NH has to offer. Last week the trees were kissed by a frost bringing out their brilliant colors of red, orange and yellow.
Friday was kicked off with multiple practices and races. Today the Nascar trucks take to teh track along with a modified race and teh ACT series. Sprint cars will take to the track for their final practice. Sunday will kick off with a free concert by Montgonery Gentry followed by the big Sprint Car Race.
It will be an exciting racing weekend for NH, New England and the world. See you there...

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Loudon, NH on Sunday was pretty quiet for most of the race. In fact, other than the caution at Lap 34 for debris, all laps were under green until Lap 235, when poor Kasey Kahne's engine of his #9 Budweiser car finally gave out after limping around for several laps beforehand. There were even two green flag pit stops which shook things up a little, especially since Tony Stewart had to pit out of sequence because he didn't get enough fuel dumped into his car under the debris caution of Lap 34. However, the last 20 laps got much louder at Loudon with two quick cautions when Juan Pablo Montoya kept bumping other drivers in his aggressive drive to the front, turning #83, taking himself out of the race as well as the #83 (Lap 281) and when Jeff Burton's #31 slid into Kyle Busch's #18, turning both but not wrecking anyone else (Lap 289).
When the flag waved green again after the last caution, there were only eight laps left, with Jimmie Johnson's #48 and and Kurt Busch's #2 setting one-two. Kurt bumped Jimmie and raced around him in turn 4, but Jimmie returned the favor on the final lap and took the checkered, with Tony Stewart's #14 steadily charging towards the front. This was Jimmie's fifth win of the season and the second week in a row (after last week's Father's Day road race win at Sonoma). It looks like it's going to be a possible race between Jimmie and Denny Hamlin, with each now accumulating five pre-Chase wins. But, don't count out Kevin Harvick (the points leader) or Kyle Busch (currently third in points) either because they're both driving very well.
On Saturday, July 3, we head back to Daytona for a night race at 7:30pm EDT on TNT. This will be fun!
