The Somersworth Recreation Department is offering a trip to TD Banknorth Garden to see the Boston Bruins face off against the New Jersey Devils on Friday, Nov. 27th. Bus departs from Flanagan Center on Bartlett Ave. at 9:15 a.m. Game begins at noon. $60 per person. For more info, call 692-9508 or 817-9751.

The event will kick off with a bang - literally - at 6:30 tonight at the High School football field. The Festival Pavilion will feature food, games, concerts by children's entertainer T-bone and local cover band Gazpacho, and of course, a fireworks show.
The festival's big day is Saturday. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., a continuous program of music, crafts, food, and games, among other types of entertainment, will fill a closed-off Main Street and Noble Pines Park.
A free bus located at the intersection of Washington and Elm streets will shuttle visitors to and from the park, which will feature pony rides, a free petting zoo, llamas, food vendors and an entertainment stage for various acts.
Main Street, closed off to traffic, will have continuous acts for children and adults. The World Culturals area will feature representatives from about 18 countries, including Brazil, Poland, China, Rwanda and Indonesia.
A variety of American and ethnic foods will be offered, and more than 80 crafters will showcase their wares for purchase. The Plaza Stage will feature musical for children and adults alike. The Expo Tent will have free hands-on demonstrations of crown-making and exotic animals from Wildlife Encounters. Visitors can even hold a snake. And the Early Childhood Play Area will have bubbles, finger painting, and a sandbox for the little ones.

Stanley was a first-round pick of the Boston Red Sox in 1974.
A sinker ball specialist, he is the club all-time saves leader with 132, but to most Red Sox fans, he is simply know at "The Steamer".
Bob Stanley is also the all-time leader in appearances, with 637 and is a member of the Red Sox Hall of Fame since 2000.

My family and I often take in the baseball game trips to Fenway park, and last year were able to take in the trip to The Boston Garden to watch the Boston Bruins. The programs are fun and enjoyable, and most importantly affordable for any family.

On Thursday May 7th, the Somersworth Festival Association will be holding it's 5th annuual wine and beer tasting event at the Great Bay Gallery in Somersworth New Hampshire.
The Somersworth Festival Association is responsible for the annual Somersworth International Children's Festival; this year, scheduled for June 20th, Breakfast with Frosty, the Pumpkin Fest and the Kid's Koncerts. In addition to these events, fundraising is also used for local schools by way of scholarships for high school seniors and an Artist in the Schools and Arts & Crafts program at the elementary and middle school levels.

This has become a very popular event, attracting visitors from throughout the Seacoast area, and this year promises to be even more successful. The attendees will have the opportunity to sample wines from no fewer than five New Hampshire Wineries as well as other wines from all over the world. For the beer lovers, the Woodstock Inn Brewery will be on hand to provide samples of their various brews. Another highlight of this year's event will be a silent auction featuring a six bottle wine cooler and other great items. This will be in addition to a raffle featuring prizes, such as winery tours, tastings and gift certificates donated by the participants. Tickets for the event are $25/person, $45 for two in advance, or $30 at the door.
