BRIDGE CLOSING
The Burlington-Bristol Bridge will close to overnight traffic starting Tuesday 18 November 2008- Friday 21 November 2008 and Monday 24 November 2008
The span across the Delaware River will close Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. so crews can finish a repaving project started over the summer.
The bridge also will be closed overnight Nov. 24, according to the Burlington County Bridge Commission, which owns and operates the Burlington-Bristol and Tacony-Palmyra bridges.
The bridge will remain open during the day as well as on weekends.

No detours will be posted during the upcoming closure. To cross the river, drivers can use the bridge connecting the New Jersey and Pennsylvania turnpikes to the north or the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge to the south.

Burlington City, New Jersey Housing Court Established
Burlington city residents will have to obey stricter policies and follow new procedures when it comes to housing code violations.
In the past, hearings for housing code citations were heard in municipal court. A new housing court has been created. The new housing court will speed up hearings for housing code violations as well as require faster corrective action. In addition, changes to the housing code will allow for fewer warnings for residents and landlords.
Housing court will be held every week, about an hour prior to regular municipal court. Extenuating circumstances will be considered, such as weather issues that prevent a violation from being immediately corrected. Violations for grass, weeds, brush, chipped paint, and litter are expected to be turned around in one week.
Residents can call anonymously to a tip line to report violations. The tip line number is (609) 864-2327,
Have a great day

Do You Know Someone Who Is Always Angry?
I was talking to a buddy of mine this weekend and we were discussing an angry g
uy. Someone asked the question...."why is he so angry"? The response was...."don't worry about it. No matter what, this guy is always angry"
I have learned that in order to improve yourself, you must first look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. I have to admit, that I too used to be that angry man. My anger was a result of frustration. No matter what, I seemed to be frustrated on all sides. The more I tried, the more frustrated I become, the angrier I got.
God has a way of letting you stand in your own way until you are ready to step aside and receive your blessing. I have now learned, that in the midst of my anger, I was blessed and that things were not really that bad. Even when things were not going my way, my life wa
s much better than many others I encountered.
So the choice really is yours. Are you going to continue to be frustrated by the things that are not going the way you want in your life
. Are you going to continue being and Angry Man or Woman? Are you going to continue to look at the glass as being half full? If so, sorry, I will not be able to join you.
Do You Know Someone Who Is Always Angry?
Let me know. Meanwhile,
I will continue to have a great day today. As well as tomorrow and
the day after that, and the day after that, and so on and so on.......
Have a great day

A collection of 500 items, some dating back to the mid 1800s, will be sold at a public auction tomorrow.
Saturday, October 4, 2008, an auction will be held by the last remaining heir of the Anderson Family, Barbara Negy. The items belonged to the Anderson Family, which has had a presence in Burl
ington City since the 1850s. The family once owned Anderson Automotive, currently an antique shop on High Street, and Anderson's Drugs, currently Wheatley's Pharmacy, said auctioneer Chris Doerner of 21st Century Antiques.
The auction will be held at the Anderson Family home at 822 Salem Road with a preview beginning at 8 a.m. and the sale at 9:30 a.m.
Some early Burlington High School yearbooks are in the collectio
n, including one from 1907 entitled The Naughty Seven. The title is a reference to the year as well as to the number of students in the graduating class, which included six women and one man. Other early yearbooks from the school, complete with commencement programs, are also included.
Another item is a photo album containing about 300 postcards and photographs of historical buildings and locations throughout the city, such as steam ships on the Delaware River waiting to take patrons to Burlington Island Park in 1916, and of events including a fatal trolley car crash that occurred on High Street.
"This photo album is a documentation of everything Burlington, and the collection is a great cross-section of everything Burlington," Doerner said. "We have some correspondence detailing lawsuits that were settled."
