3 Cheap, Easy Ways to Make Your Home for Sale in Collingswood More Inviting

Kimberly Thomas, Broker Associate Realty Executives Brown & Pope: Real Estate Agent in Voorhees, NJ

Many putting up their home for sale on the Collingswood market don't have a lot of available cash to spruce it up. While staging houses is a definite plus, it takes money, as does many of the other often-suggested "to-dos." Here are a few cheap, easy ways to make your home look more inviting to buyers:

1. Put up your personal stuff
Not every buyer looking at a home for sale in Collingswood appreciates the fact that someone still lives there. Putting away the following things can help the buyers' see themselves in the home:

  • your pet's things (toys, litter box, bowls)
  • your medications, toothbrushes and toilet accessories
  • any toys
  • knick-knacks and personal pictures

2. Create more space
Small, closed in spaces are major turnoffs for buyers. Create the illusion of more space by:

  • putting up out-of-season clothes or clothes you don't wear very often to make your closets look bigger
  • taking one piece of furniture out of your bedroom
  • packing up the small appliances in your kitchen
  • taking out all but four chairs in your dining room, as well as extra table leaves

3. Touch on the trends
Chances are that some of the buyers are paying attention to celebrity trends. Feng shui is a big one, and you can do your part with just a few touches:

  • add a fresh bowl of fruit to the kitchen
  • put a comfortable couch or chair on the east side of your living room or den
  • put a green welcome mat on your porch to symbolize opportunity
  • get rid of reds

Whether you see or feel a difference doesn't matter. Keep in mind that you're trying to appeal to potential buyers of your home for sale in Collingswood, not make the home more livable for you. If it helps, pretend that you're the buyer, seeing the house for the first time.

If you're trying to get your home ready to sell, I can help. Call me at 856-308-5989 or email me at kim@kimcanhelp.com for more information.

Kudo's To Karla & Barbs Harley Davidson: Collingswood, NJ

Leander McClain: Realtor ~NJ Real Estate NJSouthRealEstate.Com: Real Estate Agent in Cherry Hill, NJ

Karla Barbs Harley Davidson Collingswood NJ Leander McClain RealtorTHANK YOU

My grandmother taught me to always say Please and Thank You.  Saying and meaning those magic words has gotten me far in life.  I would like to publicly say thank you to my new friend Karla at Barbs Harley-Davidson in W. Collingswood Heights, NJ.  Below is a copy of a thank you letter that I sent to Barb, the owner of the dealership.

Thank You Karla

*****************************************

Dear Barb:

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude and publicly thank your staff.   I filled out an online form indicating that I was interested in purchasing a Harley-Davidson.  I was contacted via email by Karla.  I had previously visited another dealership and no one even asked if they could help me.  When I was contacted by Karla, I was skeptical.  In my mind, I wondered if I really wanted to be a part of the Harley family if this is how I was to be treated every time I walked into the dealership.

I gave Karla my information and she called me.  I thought I knew what I wanted to buy.  Karla spent time and talked to me and asked if I had ridden the bike I wanted to buy. When I told her no, she suggested that I come in and ride several different models.  She told me that I needed to absolutely love whatever bike I purchased.

When my wife and I came to the dealership, we were greeted at the front door and asked if we needed help. I was directed to Karla.  She was just as nice and sweet in person as she was on the phone.  We looked as many bikes and I picked out one I liked.  She introduced me to Blake and he took me out on a test ride.  Blake was cool, nice and knowledgeable.

We left that night without purchasing a bike.  We never felt pressured and your staff was not disappointed or upset that we did not buy.  I called Karla later in the week and told her that I thought I needed a larger bike.  She told me to come back and ride as many bikes as needed until I found "the one".  Eventually, I settled on a 2008 Anniversary Edition Superglide Custom.  Lisa was my salesperson and she helped complete the purchase.  Lisa was very nice and even remembered my name.

I completed the transaction and rode home on my new bike on 5/30/09.  In the future, I will always return to Barbs for all of my Harley needs.  I have told several people who are interested in purchasing that there is only one place they need to go, Barb's.  Thank you and your staff for making this such a pleasurable experience.

Sincerely,

Leander McClain

Hi. I added a couple comments to some blogs on the site. I think reading the other agents blogs is great. I thrive with constant positive feedback. I love to read new ideas on marketing myself, my company or my listings. I think Active Rain will serve me well. It is a great site and I am glad I found it! Thanks..
