'V' Is For Victory!

Today at 4pm, I am settling on 847 Main Street, Lower Alloways Creek Township, Salem County, NJ. I've been working on this since May, 2009.

Nearly 8 months.....

When I began this journey with my Buyer, Main Street was actually one of my competitor's listings. Just after I showed it, her listing expired. I questioned it, but didn't worry about it. Fair is fair. She deserved to be included in the commission even though she was not communicating very well....at all. In fact, she was very negative about our chances for success.

Have you ever heard that expression, "Don't tell someone that they CAN'T do something or they'll just set out to DO IT?!"

Well, to make a long story short, my office (my wonderful processor) had to step up to communicate with the mortgage company's Loss Mitigator since the listing agent and the Seller's attorney were not actively working to get the short sale approved.

Did I mention that my wonderful processor is the BEST!

She was able to get that approval and today WE ARE HAVING SETTLEMENT!

Oh, there were many twists and turns. One of which was the moment that I personally listed the property, only to find out that it was my competitor's Aunt's home. (ouch! Well, someone needed to help the Seller!) There were 4 different offers, 4 sets of contracts, bad water, termite damage, mortgages falling apart/patching back up and more.

I'm not going to bore you with the details, but I want to leave you with the famous quote by Winston Churchill -

"If you are going through hell, keep going."

or how about this one.....

"Battles are won by slaughter and maneuver. The greater the general, the more he contributes in maneuver, the less he demands in slaughter."

We feel like we've been through a battle on this file. Slaughter? Maneuver?
