Volunteers are needed to work on the gardens and grounds of the Interpretive Center at Island Beach State park.

Island Beach has always been one of my favorite beaches, away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalks and truly a natural play ground. I have been to beaches in other states, other countries and IBSP is by far one of the most tranquil and beautiful beaches you will ever set foot on.

• When: Saturday May 2, 2009 8:30am
• What: Beach Clean up, Gardening, Working on the Paths around the center ETC
• What to bring: Rakes and Shovels, and a Wheelbarrow if you have one..

Clean Action Beach Sweeps

• When: Saturday , April 25, 2009
• Where: Meet at Stockton Avenue in Seaside Park (ocean side) at 8:45am.
• Bring: Please wear sunscreen, gloves, and closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops). Clean Ocean Action will be providing all the supplies we need.

5k Run, Walk Benefiting Cancer Society

Seaside Park Borough is hosting it's 8th annual Walk The Shore For A Cure 5K run and walk and the 6th Annual Kids' Fun Run, both on September 6, 2008

Proceeds from the walk/run will benefit the American Cancer Society. Registration will be from 8:30 -9:30am at the Sawmill Cafe (Stocton and the Boardwalk). This is also the starting point for the race. The fun run starts at 9:45am and the 5k walk/run begins at 10am.

Costs to participate are as follows:

• Kids fun run $15
• 5k walk/run $25 in advance $30 on race day

Registration forms can be picked up at Borough hall or at local Businesses. The website for the event is walktheshoreforacure.com

Seaside Park August 2, 2008 Fluke Tournament

A Fluke fishing tournament will be held from 6am to 2pm on Saturday August 2nd at the Seaside Park Marina (corner of J street and Central Ave)

Immediately following the Tournament will be a barbecue and cash prizes and gifts for the winners. Cost is $50/boat with 2 anglers and $25 for each additional angler. kids 12 and under are free
