Trenton, NJ Event :
"If you don't already know Popa Chubby, he's a funkier version of John Popper, with incredible guitars added to an arsenal of harmonica and unique vocals that fall somewhere between Big Rude Jake and Ray Charles. Chubby's guitar talents are versatile, ranging from slide-guitar blues to electric riffs on "No Trouble No More" (which is reminiscent of vintage Aerosmith)."
- Paul Baretta, CMJ

Getting the Winter blues? There are many local events to put on the agenda, including the Old Mill Hill Society's Annual House Tour of beautifully restored historical homes, to help perk you up.
The Old Mill Hill Society 43rd Annual Mill Hill Holiday House Tour will take place on Saturday December 5, 2009 from 12-5pm (snow date is Sunday December 6, 2009).
The theme of this year's tour is History in Progress and it will highlight the "before" and "after" of over 20 restored Victorian, late Federal and Gothic Revival homes decorated for the holiday season. This year's tour will also feature the work funded by the Old Mill Hill Society Neighborhood Preservation Grants Program.
To date, this project has given homeowners and developers approximately $35,000 to offset the costs of home renovation projects that range from de-conversions of multi-family units into single-family homes to repairing crumbling facades. The 1719 William Trent House will also be open to tour participants at no charge, and the City of Trenton will provide free shuttle service between the Trent House and Mill Hill.
Tickets for the tour are $15 in advance, $20 the day-of at Artworks. Advance ticket sale locations for the tour and addition information about Mill Hill can be found at www.trentonmillhill.org.
Free parking will be available at Artworks and throughout Mill Hill.

Today almost everyone can feel the influence of the increased competition at the Real Estate market. If you are among those who try to sell their house you know a lot about difficulties. Sellers have to lower prices and pay a lot for advertising of their home before the first potential buyer comes.
Here I want to share the story that happened last week with one of my customers. They managed to sell their house for the price they wanted (not lowering or discounting it) because they managed to wait for so-called "their customer". And the main reason for that siccesful deal was hidden in the Aluminum balconies by Cacciola Iron Works from New Jersey. The buyer loved that balconies so much that the contract became just a technical question and was signed in 3 days.
My conclusion: people (buyer) are looking not only for a place to sleep but for something beautiful and wonderfully looking. So, don't save on your house appearance!

A trip to the Trenton Farmers Market is always on the top of my list, I was introduced to is 14 years ago and was immediately hooked.

Located outside of Lawrenceville and Ewing, the Trenton Farmers Market is on Spruce Street. The market is open Sunday 10-4 and Tuesday thru Saturday 9-6. The market dates back to the early 1900s with farmers coming from all over the "Garden State: by horse and buggy to Trenton to sell their produce. In 1939 it was incorporated into the Trenton Farmers Market and in 1948 opened the Spruce
Street location.
Part of the Jersey Fresh Program, The Trenton Farmers Market is open all year long and only allows produce sold that has been grown on that vendor's farm. Along with fresh produce, there are fresh and dried flowers, baked goods, a food court and a crab shack. There are also vendors with selling wares from jewelry to toys and socks.

It is truly a delight to the senses to see, touch and smell the fresh vegetables. My favorite is to buy tomatoes, onions, peppers, some fresh bread from the bakery and cheese, go home, slice up the produce thin and make a sandwich.
Absolutely the best any season of the year, if you are in the area it is not to be missed.
