Speaking of the period of the our Planets' orbits around the Sun, here in Taos New Mexico we operate under the standard "Earth year", or 365 days (except, of course, for every 4th year when we add an extra day for the leap year). This works out pretty well, since the rest of the world also operates under the standard "Earth year".

Speaking of the surface rotational speed of our planets, here in Taos New Mexico, which is about 2,514 miles north of the equator, the surface rotational speed is only about 838 or so miles per hour. So you can imagine that you will have fewer bad hair days here due to the wind than you would at the equator. That is not to say though, that we don't have some windy days in Taos and North Central New Mexico.

Taos, New Mexico: Great time to invest

Taos real estate prices have been steadily increases for years. This year is the first slow down in Real Estate here. There are some great buys in condos in town and in Taos Ski Valley. The interest rates are very low now as well. There has been a slight increase in mortgage applications nationwide which is a sign that the market may have bottomed out and is not starting to move up again. Spring in Taos is sort of wild. The weather is unpredictable: sometimes it rains, or snows, or is windy or is sunny and hot. Sometimes all of these things happen in the same day. Yesterday morning, it was 27 degrees in Taos and by afternoon the temperature was 70. Quite a swing. Taos is really beautiful always and spring is never boring here.

Taos, New Mexico forecast for real estate market

I just read an article written by an economist who said that the real estate market is close to being at the bottom of the decline. He also said that when prices drop in real estate that markets stabilize. I attended a seminar in January in San Diego which also addressed the declining market. According to the experts at the Seminar, real estate should start to rise again in 2010 and the market then will be similar to the great markets of 2003-2004.

Prices in Taos have decreased and the number of real estate sales has dropped. Properties are still selling, but the pace has slowed down. It is truly a great time to buy an investment property right now, because there are a lots of choices and sellers seem to be more flexible with their prices.
