Do you love Art? Food? Wine? Fashion? Homes? Santa Fe? Then, it is time to mark your calendar now for the upcoming 15th Annual Santa Fe Art Feast weekend happening on February 24-26, 2012. Good things happen when a community supports the imagination of our youth. Your participation in ArtFeast benefits the nonprofit ArtSmart which has donated $972,000 to support visual art programs in Santa Fe. Perhaps this is why we continue to be a community where art makes a difference and imagination rules.
Tickets for the Edible Art Tour are available from www.ticketssantafe.com. The self-guided Home Tour is sponsored by Santa Fe Properties. The home tour is on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 PM and is free.
We are thrilled our livable sculpture home on at 7468 A Old Santa Fe Trail has been selected as one of Santa Fe’s most artistic and elegant homes on tour this year. We look forward to seeing you on tour and helping us make a difference for the kids in our community.

This Speechless Santa Fe moment comes from one of those priceless events during Santa Fe's celebration of July 4th on our Historic Santa Fe Plaza. The morning begins with a performance of traditional dances by the students from a dancing school who practice all year for the opportunity to perform. My favorites are the littlest ones as they dance from the heart with so much spirit and energy. This image happened as we all waited for their performance to begin. What I love about most about Santa Fe is simply living every day here to the fullest and telling our stories in another speechless moment.

On January 6, 1912, President William H. Taft signed a proclaimation admitting New Mexico in the United States as our 47th state. This commemorative Centennial Ornament was created by the Governor's Mansion Foundation to celebrate our history and unique blend of cultures, heritages, languages and lifestyles. All proceeds from the ornament sales benefit the Governor's Mansion Foundation, a non-partisan, non-profit organization of volunteers responsible for the design and preservation of the Governor's residence. To purchase this 24 KT Gold with Rhodium detail ornament and support the good works of the Foundation, visit this website in collaboration with the Santa Fe New Mexican.
It was in our statehood year of 1912 that many civic leaders adopted a plan to encourage architects to unify our Santa Fe "city different" with Spanish Pueblo Revival style architecture. Today, our Santa Fe style home is Santa Fe real estate. Stay tuned here for more information on New Mexico's Centennial year.

The Santa Fe Plaza and its infamous Plaza Cafe in the same spot since 1904 changed its name this week to the Pico Mundo Grill and moved without moving to the fictional town of Pico Mundo, California. This can only happen in the movies and that was exactly what was happening as the filming for Odd Thomas took our historic Santa Fe Plaza. By simply turning a corner, I was in a imaginary town.
The movie stars in this Dean Kootz story keeps growing beyond Anton Yelchin to now include Willem DeFoe and 50 Cent. If you were on the Plaza yesterday, you may have ended up in the movie because by being there you were consenting to be filmed. This is why I love Santa Fe! There is something new happening around every corner. If you love movies, come and visit. Who knows, you might want to be here all the time. Perhaps, there is a part here for you someday!

Do you love movies and Santa Fe? Did you know that Santa Fe is becoming a very busy location and film destination? Here is what is happening tomorrow on the new movie streets of Santa Fe, New Mexico. "Odd Thomas" a Dean Koontz novel, about a Millennial short order cook who talks to dead people is being transformed into a movie. Santa Fe is somehow transformed in typical Hollywood style into the California desert town for a slice of the movie location.

The movie release date is still 2011. The official movie site is in progress. Here is Dean Koontz take on Odd Thomas - the movie.
If you are in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Monday, May 23, 2011 the location for filming is around Griffin Street and Rio Grande Avenue. This is only a short walk from our historic Santa Fe Plaza and very close to one of our Santa Fe Properties real estate offices at 320 Paseo de Peralta. Stay tuned.
