About Bridgewater's Conquerall Bank

Moving to Nova Scotia CANADA

Bettina Gouthro Grunwald SOUTH SHORE NS Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Bridgewater, NS

Moving to Nova Scotia, when you have never been there before, takes courage.

Some would say Nerve.

Even as in... 'the Nerve of those people'.

As a CFA (Come From Away) it always amused me when people would stare in shock and say "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE" when I would tell'em we came from Calgary. And that was 12 years ago. Since then, a number of rural and city folk have gone 'Down the Road' over to Alberta to see if the grass was greener. It isn't. At least not right after a recession, or prairie summers LOL.

Nova Scotia country scene

In fact, NOVA SCOTIA is one of the few markets in North America that didn't see mass layoffs and housing price Panic. Our "South Shore" has the benefit of being Neither Boom nor Bust usually. So our real estate is reasonably affordable, and stable in growth. Try telling the UK market why Nova Scotia prices haven't sank much while the Pound, and property values most places, took a bubble bursting decline. However those with plans of immigrating OR a seasonal residence can still get a wonderful dream property for local prices. Some parts of the world have restrictive tax systems and two tiered list prices if you are not born there...

I wasn't "born" a Maritimer, but I can see why so many that were now can't wait to come back. Better beat that Baby Boomer rush, eh. We chose to move here, have our children here, build our businesses and our Lives here. Are you so lucky too?

BTW, this much snow isn't typical on the South Shore of Nova Scotia

...Kids are delighted that school gets cancelled for "STORM DAYS"
