Been living out of my backpack for the last five days on an excellent adventure...

I'm sorting through some interesting photographs I took with my gal pal Emelia who is also a photographer. We've been chatting about possibly filming a few scenes in Brooklyn, NY and Mexico so I've been casing New York City for some Zagat rated Mexican dining with my girlfriends who are helping me scout film locations. Since it is my birthday month my gal pals have been treating me to some really neat foody paradise treats for April while we run around collecting eye candy.

South Mexican Flan with Strawberries is a must have desert and I enjoyed my visit to this wonderful little hole in the wall in Park Slope, Brooklyn to get some. I also sampled something new that I think you may want to try. They do fried grasshoppers and guacamole there and since Emelia dared me to have some of course I had to rise to the challenge, then blog about it (LOL). Never thought I'd eat bugs for brunch but I have to say it was pretty darn good. Kudos and congrats to Emmy for teaching me something new this week (LOL). ;-)
They have a patio in the back beneath a tent that is really cool but currently being renovated so you can not eat outside until the construction is completed. We plan to go back to eat under the tent because we're hoping to film there this summer.
The front dining area is very intimate but well worth the wait if a table is unavailable when you visit. It would very very tricky to film in such a small space but not impossible. It's on our short list of possible locations. We all gotta eat somewhere, eh? ;-)

Yesterday was a rare occaision in NYC, everything was closed due to snow. So what can you do on a snowday? Take the dogs out and go play!

It's been pretty cold here, too cold to take the dogs to a park or for a nice long walk. I have two dogs that haven't been for a good run for a while. Why wait for spring? I have a Boxer (named"Trunx") and a Hybrid wold name Akira. The had a great time yesterday!

More people know my dog's name (Trunx) than mine in my neighborhood. I think he going to give the Brooklyn Borough President "Marty Markowitz" a run for his money next election!

Akia ran throgh the snow like is wasn't even there! She is totally in her element being a hybrid Timberwolf from Alaska! One of the smartest, sweetest dogs I ever had!

alot of people complain about the snow, but I find it beautiful. It doesn't last long, so enjoy it while you can!

I make it my business to keep up with the current events in my area, know the events and the latest OMG moments. Sure, there are sites like Brownstoner, Daily Slope, OTBKB, Across the Park, etc., but one of my favorite sites has a name that will be obvious as to the reason why I cannot tell you: “Fucked in Park Slope.”
http://www.fuckedinparkslope.com/
I have seen inside views on everything from the food coop to The Park Slope VS Westboro Baptist Church Smackdown. My favorite writers on this blog, “Erica and Allison” have such a twist on the happenings in the slope that she has made my day numerous times! Every time I see someone walking down the street with that “Food Coop” thing on and a shopping cart, I laugh my ass off!
I need to get me a “Suspended at the Coop” shirt…
Thank you “Fucked in Park Slope” for telling it like it really is.
