Exploring Cold Spring Harbor Long Island NY with Feng Shui L.I.
Cold Spring Harbor is a small town that runs along the Northern "Gold Coast" of Long Island NY. The town dates back to the 1600's. Cold Spring Harbor was originally named Cold Spring because of the naturally cold freshwater springs that flowed (and still flow) in the area. It is a great place to explore, dine in, shop in unique small stores and enjoy the scenery of their local park and waterways. Those interested in history, be sure to check out the Long island museum, admission is only $1.00!
Feng Shui Consultant Laura Cerrano loves Antique and home good stores from small towns. That is where you usually find the most interesting items.
Sweeti Pies is a wonder place to purchase fresh pies and Bakery goods. It seems to be one of the hot spots for locals as well, so you know it is good eats.
Cold Spring Harbor is a pet friendly town that offers water and free treats!

Many home sellers hit the "pause" button during December, and would-be sellers decide to wait until January to put their house on the market. They feel the hassle of keeping the house clean while getting ready for the holidays is just too much. In my opinion, that is a mistake!
Here's why:
The MLSLI data prove it! A comparison shows that Fall/Holiday Market has more sales than the Early Spring market - and December is continuing the trend. For example, in 2010, in the Four Harbors area:
Data for 2009 show the same pattern.
More proof: This week I put the first house under contract for December in the Cold Spring Harbor school district. I listed it in November and put it under contract with my own buyer in 24 days!
If I were ready to sell my home...I would list today. The "most wonderful time of the year" could net you the best gift ever - a contract!

Fresh turkey anyone? After a Feng Shui consultation in Cold Spring Harbor Long Island NY Laura Cerrano of Feng Shui Manhattan New York and I came across a group of Wild Turkeys. I have to say, they were very cute. I'm also not at ALL sure I want to eat them at Thanksgiving anymore. Animals in Feng Shui are pure FIRE Energy!
I would like to share a short History about our friendly Long Island Turkeys; well if you consider pecking your car friendly. During the 19th Century on Long Island, turkeys were hunted to near extinction. In 1992 a gentlemen by the name of Mark Lowery helped reintroduce turkeys back to Eastern Long Island NY. Today our fine feathered friends are thriving. If your looking for some really good tasting turkey, Laura and I suggest trying Zorn's in Bethpage Long Island NY..this is a Long Island Landmark that has been around since 1940.

A New York Feng Shui Consultant in Lovely Long Island, NY
Feng Shui and New York. Sometimes I believe they just go together. There is so much beauty both in New York City and on Long Island it's never difficult to decide where to go for this Feng Shui Consultant.
FINALLY, days of Spring. Some warm weather and much needed sunshine are precious days to be enjoyed. I spent one day recently in the lovely North Shore Long Island Town of Cold Spring Harbor-right next to Huntington Long Island New York which I've written about before.
Cold Spring Harbor has its own charm. It sits right on the Long Island Sound and has beach spots (primarily for residents), unique homes and a wonderful Main Street with quaint and wonderful shops and items you're not able to find anywhere else.
IT ALSO HAS A ROCK. Something I somehow missed on my other "adventures" in Cold Spring Harbor Long Island. Some other special things I love about Cold Spring Harbor is that my favorite astrologer is there, Robert Cook. It is also a place where a singer who's music I love and have been listening to and watching him performs also plays in this town on occasion-Jim Dawson. I have been going to his concerts since I was 17 and am STILL doing it now!
Here are a few pictures of this treasure on Long Island, if you ever come to visit here it should be on your list. Oh, and at the bottom you'll find THE ROCK. This New York Feng Shui Consultant finds something new on every adventure : )
