Copiague Harbor Homes For Sale
Copiague Harbor is an affluent, private community located south of Montauk Highway (aka Merrick Road) offering amenities such as a private beach and a marina on a private lagoon.
In the late 1960's, Copiague Harbor was created to be a private gated community and guarded. Some homeowners have told me that they would consider doing that but it hasn't up to this point.
The homes in Copiague Harbor are larger and are deeded belonging to the Great South Bay Estates Homeowner's Association.
Copiague Harbor is part of the Copiague School District.
Currently, there are 11 homes for sale in Copiague Harbor. Prices range from $500,000 to $949,000

Today's Newsday, Long Island's local newspaper, ran a great article about the community called the American Venice located on the border of Copiague and Lindenhurst on the south shore of Long Island. And it just happens to be the neighborhood I live in! I was so pleased to finally learn the history of the community that we have come to enjoy since moving here almost 2 years ago. In particular, there are the remains of what once was a beautiful gazebo constructed on an island at the head of the canal that we overlook. I always wondered what was once there. What I found equally as intriguing was the history behind the original developers of the area and their vision to recreate Venice here on Long Island. Complete with gondolas! What a wonderful time it must have been when in the 1920's this community was built to reflect the romance and architectural detail of such a unique European city. I'm thrilled to live in such a culturally distinct community. I even use the two winged lion columns (replicas of ones at Piazza San Marco in Venice) as landmarks to locate our street when giving directions.
