New York City St Patrick’s Day Parade
A Short Train ride from Newburgh NY
It’s that time of year again. It’s time for another parade with marching bands. Last week I wrote about all the St. Patrick’s Day Parades in the area near Newburgh NY. Those parades are great as they are in local communities. However great they are and convenient, they are not New York City.
Saturday, March 17th 2012 is time for the big one! New York City hosts the largest St Patrick’s Day Parade anywhere. No floats and no cars and no floating balloons, but still there are over 150,000 people marching in this parade. The parade goes up 5th Avenue from 44th to 79th Street. Toward the north end of the St. Patrick's Day Parade route are the best viewing spots: you can avoid the crowds that throng the sidewalks below 59th Street. The St. Patrick's Day Parade ends at 79th Street, around 2 or 3 p.m
Newburgh NY in the Hudson Valley is an Easy Commute to the Parade. Just a hop on the MTA in Beacon and you are in Grand Central Station in about 1hr 15 minutes. You don't have to be Irish to attend. Feeling Lucky? Enjoy! and Think Green.

A couple of weeks ago I had a bout of terrible back pain - so severe I wound up in the emergency room and had to see a back doctor in follow up. I hadn't hurt myself, no falls, no heavy lifting - it just came out of nowhere. I got put on muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatory's, the whole 9 yards. I took them for the first couple days but they really weren't helping me so I stopped taking them.
I had a gift certificate that had been given to me by a friend a few months back so I figured this was the perfect time to use it. It was for a massage at Scotchtown Chiropractic. They have two offices: one in Middletown, NY and one in Chester, NY.
I went to the Chester office and had an appointment to see Jenny, their massage therapist. Those of you that know me, know I also suffer from terrible migraines on a regular basis. That particular day I practically crawled in there from the pain in my back and from the headache I had had, for over 5 days.
I was extremely nervous because when you are in pain you don't want anyone touching you, also with the type of pain I have, it needs a firmer touch. When you don't get that firmer touch you don't get any relief from the pain of the migraine.

Jenny was extremely professional and did an excellent job with my massage. I told her exactly what I was feeling and didn't need to say another thing. She got right in there and hit all of my pain spots and when I left there I felt better than I had in weeks. I would definitely go back to her again in the future and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for pain relief and or even just a relaxing massage!
Thank you Jenny, the relief you gave me that day is still with me!
Scotchtown Chiropractic & Physical Therapy is perfect for the whole family for pain relief, chiropractic care, nutritional & wellness counseling & physical therapy.
