Manlius is a town in Onondaga County, east of the city of Syracuse, New York. The population is estimated at over 32,000, making it the third largest suburb in metropolitan Syracuse. In 2005, the town was ranked #98 on CNN Money's list of Best Places to Live. The Town of Manlius is located on the eastern border of Onondaga County and includes the villages of Fayetteville, Manlius, and Minoa and the two hamlets of Freemont and Kirkville. Shopping & Dining: East Genesee Street is a main thouroughfare through Fayetteville which has numerous retail shops, eating establishments and a major outdoor shopping plaza (Fayetteville Towne Center). One can take pleasure in traveling the senic Erie Canal with it's formidable hiking/biking trail. Limestone & Butternut creeks wind through the Town of Manlius, which is used by fisherman. Green Lakes State Park is actually part of a primeval forest with two small lakes Green, Round) that have a beautiful blue/green color where you can enjoy fishing, non motorized boating, hiking, picnicing and golfing.
