Otto's Market in Germantown New York.
Otto's Market is located in Germantown a Columbia County town North of Red Hook. The market is located right in the center of town. It occupies the space which was once known as the Central Market.
How important is Otto's Market to Germantown?
Otto's Market is truly a vital part of the community because there are no supermarket in town. The nearest supermarkets can be found in Red Hook 15 minutes away or in Hudson about 15 minutes away.
Although Otto's occupies a relatively small space you would be amazed at the variety of items available. I was especially impressed with the amount of specialty items, many not found in the large supermarkets.
Besides the grocery items, you can also find organic produce. And that's not all, at Otto's breakfast and lunch is available. For those special occasions , they will gladly cater for you.
So what makes this place special?
For any business customer service is key to success and this is true of Otto's, there is a wonderful staff.

Otto's is open Monday - Saturday 7:00 AN - 7:00 PM and on Sunday 8:00AM- 3:00 PM
Tel# 518-537-7200
215 Main Street, Germantown, NY 12526
So if you are ever in Germantown stop in for breakfast or lunch.

This 3 bedroom home is located on a quiet country road. The large porch will be a place the new owner will sit back and relax , read a book, and enjoy nature.
You just never know what feature will attract a buyer, in this case it was the claw foot tub and the rest of the house met the other needs.

Speechless Sunday-The old Grey Barn
For years I have driven by this old grey barn in Columbia County NY but never found the right conditions or time to take a photo. Well, I finally did.
A barn like this is a reminder of how important agriculture was to the economy of the region. It is still important. However, during the boom years of real estate some of the large tracts of farmland in the region became housing subdivisions. Seeing a barn like this makes me think of what life was like many years ago; hard work, but, with a sense of pride from watching the fields come to life or from experiencing the birth of lambs and calves.
