I have had a lot of questions lately about the Hicksville Schools. So, based on my own knowledge as a realtor, plus a bit of research, I will begin to post some info on our school system that might be helpful to folks thinking of moving into the community and possibly buying real estate in Hicksville! Some of the info I researched, came from the Hicksville Public Schools site (www.Hicksvillepublicschools.org).
There are 7 Elementary Schools: Burns Avenue, Lee Avenue, Woodland Avenue, Old Country Rd., Dutch Lane, East Street and Fork Lane. Each elementary school has between 300 - 400 students so that makes them nice neighborhood schools. They are sincerely committed to higher academic standards for all students and the dedicated teaching staff is constantly adding new programs & curriculum to benefit their students. They want to ensure that learning is both challenging and fun.
I will provide more statistics in later blog posts, but statistics show that 91.5% of Hicksville High School graduates, graduate with a Regents Diploma.

We have been seeing an increased demand for housing in the Hicksville market. Demand by prospective purchasers moving out from Queens & surrounding areas has been strong, since Hicksville is only 20 miles outside of New York City with excellent transit and easy commute distance. The shopping is excellent with Broadway Mall centrally located plus a number of popular local shops. In addition, there are many well kept neighborhoods with nice homes, reasonably priced with lower taxes. We also have many long time residents of the community whose children, now are purchasing homes in Hicksville.
