Went to Smokey Bones in Islandia this past Saturday night with great expectations. However, those expectations quickly turned to disappointment. A wait at a crowded restaurant I can understand, but when you say you are a table for 5, you do not get seated at a booth that seats 4. That is one. The food, only average at best and it took them 2 times to get my father's steak cooked right. My ribs were okay but their pulled pork was very peppery. Yuck. Service was slow and although I haven't been to the Famous Dave's in Smithtown yet, I have been to Famous Dave's in Knoxville, TN and in Somerville, NJ and I can say that Famous Dave's wins hands down as far as menu choices and taste in terms of their ribs and pulled pork. It will be a looooong while before I visit Smokey Bones, it should be "just bones" as in "dead and buried" in my book.
