Central Park AGAIN? Well, yes and no. I was in Central Park in Manhattan not long ago when they were celebrating their 150th anniversary! A beautiful day (and a post to follow) but there is just ONE shot I wanted to show you:

I loved the huge balloon and many other things scattered throughout the Park to commemorate this occasion. And was struck by this fountain as well....I later found out it is the oldest fountain in Central Park. I thought it was beautiful and that I must have passed it before---It looks so familiar.
There are so MANY fountains in Central Park but this one was nagging at me. Feng Shui Consultants LOVE fountains and use them and recommend them to our clients for certain ‘cures' and reasons. They even make tiny desktop fountains now that run on batteries they have become so popular.
But there was something about THIS one. Only later did I find out why. Even if you've never been to lovely New York City, you may recognize this fount
I wanted to see how many people might recognize it....NO CHEATING : ) So try not to read the comments and just have a bit of FUN.

Central Park New York. Who Doesn't Love it? The Complete Guide to Central Park and Central Park Zoo For those that have visited I always find they want to go back; for those who haven't yet seen it, it's an absolute treasure! The "Gem of New York City." As a Manhattan Feng Shui Consultant I spend a lot of time in the Park because I love it--and you never know WHAT you're going to find.
They are ALL highly rated in Zagats and a trip to New York City has to include at least one of these on your itinerary. ZAGAT: Ratings & Reviews for New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco ...
Inside most Gems is another treasure and Central Park has one of mine-A Manhattan legendary restaurant called "Tavern on the Green." Tavern On The Green The ambiance is pure elegance and though it's difficult to get in I've found that when you act like you know exactly where you're going somehow you manage to get there. David Blaine rubbished over breaks from
I wanted to share just a few pictures of the Entrance to Tavern on the Green as it remains one of my favorites in Manhattan right up there with The Rainbow Room with it's amazing orchestra and revolving dance floor (not to mention the VIEWS) and The Supper Club where they had the best dancers in SWING; if you stayed until midnight, the "Swing Kids" would come in all dressed from head to spats!, They are ALL pure elegance and fun!
This post goes up tonight spurred by another post I caught from a friend of mine, Fernando Rosado, Home Stager Extrodinaire. who was having a difficult time doing Home Staging full time. For those that don't know, he was a CHEF at Tavern on the Green! He had some wonderful news to share-and Fernando, in case you're "homesick" I thought you might enjoy this:

When you're done, your chariot awaits :)
Quite a few movies were filmed there; "It's My Turn" with Jill Clayburgh and Michael Douglas comes to mind with the lovely soundtrack by Diana Ross--A New Yorker herself!

This is a plug for the the upcoming 13th Annual Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference. I thought I'd just say that at the start. I hope to talk about some more meaty things soon, since there is so much trouble going on because of foolish greed, but today I'll focus on this positive opportunity to network with fellow luxury brokers.
Rosita Sarnoff, the Executive Vice President of Stribling & Associates, Ltd., recently shared some great activities her company is planning for Luxury Real Estate members who are attending the Post-Conference Networking Trip to New York City from Oct. 14-16, 2008. This Networking Trip will begin right after the Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference in Philadelphia.
From 3-7 p.m. on Oct. 15, Rosita said that Luxury Real Estate members will enjoy tours of magnificent luxury properties and a cocktail dinner in a $38 million Penthouse and the newly renovated Plaza Hotel. "We're going to give them a terrific afternoon," Rosita said.
The afternoon will begin in a full-floor condominium overlooking Central Park that was recently offered on the market by Stribling & Associates. It includes 4,400 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a
personal gym and library. After spending some time in that luxury home, they'll head next door to the world-renowned Plaza Hotel. They'll be given a grand tour of the hotel, eventually finding their way to the Rose Club restaurant, where they'll enjoy gourmet food.
By the way, the Plaza Hotel was recently redesigned so that it now includes both hotel rooms and hotel condominiums. I wrote an article about hotel condos in the winter 2008 issue of LuxuryRealEstate.com Magazine. Check it out if you'd like to know more about those interesting properties.
Only one Luxury Real Estate member from each geographic area will be able to attend this Networking Trip and reservations are sure to go fast, so be sure to sign up today! Brokers and agents will be able to speak freely and build relationships they otherwise might miss out on at both the Fall Conference and Post-Conference Networking Trip. We look forward to seeing you there.
By the way, Stribling & Associates is a member of the Board of Regents, an exclusive group of brokers that leads the Luxury Real Estate network. The photo of the Plaza Hotel is from www.flickr.com/photos/oquendo/2463578547 and it is the copyright of Oquendo.

Some people had tears rolling down their eyes....even now, almost 30 years later. From some of my previous posts you may know that this Manhattan Feng Shui Consultant LOVES Central Park; Back to Nature--Central Park in New York City! by Feng Shui Long Island
and although I've been to Strawberry Fields before I don't spend much time there. It is still very sad for me too, even now.
But my friend Fernando Rosado ASP, president IAHSP PBC 561-906-0050 or 561-840-8950 : Fernando's Home Staging Blog requested some photos (how did he know I had just visited there?). Feng Shui Consultant Laura Cerrano and I went to Central Park in New York City less then two weeks ago for a last beautiful summer walk through the Park. It was a beautiful weekday and Central Park, as usual was crowded. We did NOT know, until later on, that Central Park was celebrating it's 150th Birthday!

This post, though, is just about a very special part of the Park. It is about Strawberry Fields and John Lennon who came to New York City and fell in love. He had to fight to stay here and many felt he was a threat because he protested the war with his "Love Ins" with Yoko Ono. He persisted and he stayed though he never distanced himself from the people that were his fans. He spent a lot of time in Central Park, lived in The Dakota and was happy to stay home and raise his son.
I often try to IMAGINE what beautiful music he would still be creating and singing today. On this very special day in Strawberry Field, there was a man taking care of the IMAGINE mosaic. Of course you re not allowed to step on it and if people got too close, he would let them know. He was so protective of it and when the rose petals moved, he would carefully put them back. It was a beautiful day in Central Park New York to just IMAGINE:

Forever.

Difficult to see, this names all the Countries all over the world "Imagine All the People Living Life in Peace" John Lennon

I have to believe this guitar belonged to the man who was protecting Strawberry Fields.

Not a petal out of line.....

The Dakota Building on Central Park West, John Lennons' home.
You also might remember it from the movie "Rosemanys' Baby."
