The Town of Marcellus, established in 1794, is located approximately 10 miles southwest of the City of Syracuse, near both Otisco and Skaneateles lakes. Marcellus is a small rural community of 35 square miles characterized by large open space areas with active agricultural uses & areas of concentrated residential development. Marcellus is known as a "Bedroom Community" due to its proximity to the City of Syracuse and largely residential population of 6,400. Some major attributes of Marcellus are a sense of "small town character", scenic land-scapes, outstanding school district, vast agricultural lands, and unique environmental settings that support many outdoor recreational activities.

Shopping & Dining: There are many local shops providing the basic necessities required for small town living. Larger "big box" stores, restaurants and super markets  are within a 15 minute drive to Camillus. Local restaurants include the Alvord House, Moondance and Ryfun's Family Restaurant.             

Parks/Lakes/Recreation: Marcellus Park is a treasure of the Central New York area. Pavilions and picnic areas create ideal spots for gatherings during spring, summer and fall. With tennis, beach volleyball, skateboarding, horseshoes, jogging and baseball - there is always something to do. Baltimore Woods has a Nature Center with trails running through a mature hardwood forest for hiking and enjoying nature at its best. The Nature Center has many programs geared twards educating children on nature and their environment. Nine Mile Creek runs through the Town of Marcellus which is enjoyed by the local fishermen. There are 2 golf courses in Marcellus (Links at Sunset Ridge, Tuscarora Golf course) and 4 others within a 5 mile radius from the center of town.
