Montauk NY Vacation Photos
You never know how much you need a vacation until you go on one. I was turnip brain for a week and loved it. Had to deal with some offers on a listing and an offer with 2 buyers while away but that is the name of the game when you are a real estate agent. You really can't leave people flat.
We stayed at the Daunt's Albatross East. The owners are very nice people and on Friday they gave us a wonderful continental breakfast.
Daunts Albatross has a courtyard with tables and grills for you to use at your leisure. They are located a few short blocks from the beach and they have a pool.

The photos below show the views just when you are rolling into Montauk NY on route 27.

My husband is a member of the Massapequa Road Runner's Club and a small group of us go to Montauk NY almost every year. Below is their daily ice cream run to Gosman's Dock. This year, most of them road bikes including my son. It's 3.5 miles from where we were staying so I drove. There are some pretty steep hills along this road to Gosman's Dock. My husband is the one in the red shirt.

The eagle has landed......below is my son. The Ben & Jerry's at Gosman's Dock is so good!

Just to give you a little history, Gosman's Dock is a quaint area that has clothing shops and a few restaurants. It is also where the Viking fishing fleet is. There is also the commercial fishing ships and those are really cool to see. Most, if not all, of the fish are supplied by the commercial fisherman to the local restaurants in Montauk.

When you walk North past Gosman's Dock, you come to a beach area with spectacular views!

Nothing like campfires on the beach! This year, I got everyone into eating S'mores!

The day before leaving Montauk, we headed over to the Fort Pond Cemetery. This area is very elevated and you really have awesome views around you.

Got up early on the last day to go to the Montauk Lighthouse to watch the sunrise. It was worth getting up at 4:45 a.m!

It's That Time Of Year Again!
Yep. That's right. It's that time of year again and I'm looking forward to it. It's vacation time and we're going to Montauk Point, NY!
Montauk Point NY is literally The End of Long Island. I've been going there since I'm little with my parents.
My husband who runs and does Triathlons, belongs to the Massapequa Road Runners Club. Every year, a small group of us from the club go to Montauk. They all run together early in the morning and even do their traditional ice cream run in the afternoon to Gosman's Dock. Not me. I do not run. Not even for ice cream. I'll drive thank you very much, lol.
So, I'll be leaving my business in the hands of a more than competent agent but my clients know they can still call, text and email me.
I haven't had a vacation since last Summer. I barely take a real day off as it is. So, this Montauk Point NY vacation is about me relaxing, sleeping late, fishing, taking walks, bike riding, going to the beach, taking some time out to read and bon fires in the evenings.
And I have to make sure to get a pound of homemade peanut butter fudge from Fudge & Stuff. Their fudge is so good it's addicting! 1 pound will last me about 2 days and then I'll be off to buy more.
Our dog Kyra, will be going to..............camp, lol. That is what we call the pet "hotel" and when we tell her she's going to camp next week, her ears go down and she runs upstairs. Being abandoned as a puppy has made her very fearful of certain situations. But, we will be able to see her from my laptop since they have cameras there.
I will take photos and post them when I get back. We leave this Monday and it can't come soon enough!

Love a good murder mystery? When you pick up a novel by your favorite author, do you find yourself
putting everything else off so you can stay on the pages of the book, trying to figure out who the killer is? Does your heart beat just a little bit faster as the crimes unfold in terrifying succession? If that describes you, what better way to spend a weekend than to be a willing participant in a live whodunit.
World famous producers Keith O'Leary and Margo Morrison, creators of Murder Mystery Weekend are bringing their troop to the Montauk Manor on the eastern end of Long Island for a weekend of murder and mayhem. An interactive event, you'll find yourself witness to a number of crimes, immersed in the stories and an active part of their ultimate investigations, all the while enjoying the ambiance and activities at the Montauk Manor.
Starting Friday night, you'll meet the other sleuths who will help you solve the crimes. Ah, but are they all exactly what they appear to be? Only time will tell as a series of disturbing events occur, likely to bring you in close proximity with a dead body or two.
This three day, two night adventure could be the perfect escape from the stresses of the holiday season.

Wordless Wednesday: Fire Starter
We went to Montauk Point, NY for our vacation in August. We stayed at the Ocean Beach Resort and every night a ton of people are on the beach starting fires. It's dark and the only lights you see are the fires. It's very relaxing to just sit by a fire:

A Montauk Vacation That Is Needed
So here we are, in Montauk Point, NY. From us it's about 80 miles East of West Babylon. I've taken pictures here and there but will take more as the week goes on.
You sometimes do not realize how much you need a vacation until you get one. We are staying at the Ocean Beach Resort that has a pool with a retractable roof. If it's raining, you can still swim. We have an ocean front room and at night it's very peaceful hearing the waves. Last night we lit a fire on the beach just like many others did. I was able to take pictures of that also. We went around town yesterday looking for those free vacation magazines to start our fire.
Right now, my son and his step-father rode their bikes to Gossman's Dock to get ice cream. They call it the ice cream bike ride.
As we were driving out here yesterday, Bank of America called me to find out if my short sale deal is dead. Huh? Dead? Why do you think that? "The documents are not there". Huh? Oh, this is all I needed! They are in the process of figuring out why they can't see anything uploaded and I can. At least they have been nice and cooperative for the last 3 months since we had a decent offer. The buyer has been patience as a Saint!
That's it for now. When I get back, I will do a post about Montauk and yes, there will be pictues.
Have a great week everyone!
