It is always such a great idea when the older and younger generations get together. At the Mill Road Elementary School in Red Hook NY the K-2 classes will be hosting the First Annual Senior Citizen Snowflake Tea. This will be held next Wednesday February 11th at 1:45-2:30 in the K-2 cafeteria where seniors will be served tea and cookies, with entertainment provided by the children.

This will not be the only opportunity to interact with the children. Mrs. Donna Gaynor Principal of the Mill Road K-2 classes established a program where seniors could have the opportunity to read to primary school students. This truly will be a win win for all.

During January there were several snow storms as well as icy condition in Red Hook NY. This did not mean that real estate came to a stand still; several new properties came on the market and about 6 others now have accepted offers.

For the month there was just one sale. This 3454 square feet home was assessed $416,000 but sold as a short sale for only $230,000. Such a sale can certainly have an impact on the marketplace, this is a property that will be used by appraiser when doing an appraisal of a similar home in the area. The point is, a short sale or a foreclosure affects more than the people directly involved.
