Mobile Homes have become a GREAT way for people to live on Long Island not pay 3000 a month. Whether you are under 55 or ovr 55, they are just a great way to live.
Most people have pre conceived ideas about Mobile Homes. The days of traditional "Trailer Parks" are gone. You still find a few older styled Mobile Homes in some parks, but most are now updated and quite honestly just look like Pre Fab homes. I specialize in Mobile Homes out on the East End of Long Island while I deal with mostly 55+, I have seen several parks that allow any age.
Several of my customers are seniors who are returning to NY from somewhere else because their children are still here and this allows them the opportunity to live on the Island without worrying about having know money. It is perfect for those seniors on a fixed income. They are also soooo nice inside. Who knew?

I know we havent been as hard hit as other parts of the country, but I have never in the 6+ years that I have been a part of this industry see sooo many people losing their houses AND so many buyers who want to buy but are terrified beyond words. Also, what is everyone waiting for?? Its very frustrating. I try and sell someones home or try and put someone in a great home, but they are all just waiting and waiting.
I read something today, a blog from a local news channel that just showed how much the public doesnt know about Real Estate nor the job of an agent in the part of NY I live in. They actually BLAMED realtors for the mortgage crisis. Selling houses to people who cant afford them. HELLO!! Wasnt our fault. We didnt qualify them for a mortgage. Also, so many people are losing houses because they refinanced and now their houses arent worth as much. How is that our fault? It just amazes me how little knowledge the general public have about what we do. We are grouped in with Insurance Salesmen and Used Car Salesmen..UGHHH!! Whats up with that?
