Remembering a Friend This Weekend In Suffern, NY - The VINCENT CROTTY Memorial Softball Tournament

There is almost always something special to do on weekends in Suffern. Softballs

  • This week, you can start your weekend early by planning on "giving back" to the community by donating to their blood drive. This Thursday, between 5-9 PM, the Suffern Lions Club, in conjunction with the Village of Suffern and Good Samaritan Hospital, is sponsoring a blood drive in memory of Crotty and Konkowski. It will take place at Suffern Community Center on Washington Avenue. For additional information contact Mel Berkowitz at 845-357-7235 or Barbara Blumhof at 845-368-0659.
  • There's the weekly farmer's market which takes place every Saturday morning from late June thru early November from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The market is held, rain or shine, in Parking Lot "A" at Orange and Lafayette Avenues. Every week there is another featured cooking demonstration by a local vendor or business, and entertainment for your enjoyment. Of coarse, there's always the yummy local produce to sample and purchase.
  • If you missed the last summer concert in the Suffern summer concert series, your kids can still get to enjoy Kurt Gallagher at the Suffern Free Library this THursday. He will be performing at 10:30 A.M. and 2 p.m. at the Suffern Library. The program is geared for ages 2 and up.
  • The local featured special event for this weekend is the "Vincent Crotty Memorial Softball Tournament " in memory of 18 year old Vincent Crotty, killed in a tragic car accident this past March. The tournament, which starts on Friday and runs through Sunday will be held at the Suffern Sports Complex. In addition to the softball games, there will be an inflatable slide, jump and aquaslides for your fun and entertainment. All proceeds go to the Vincent Crotty Foundation. Your participation will be muchly appreciated not only by the tournament organizers but by the Crotty family, by keeping alive the memory of their son.
For more information call Topper Crotty at: 586-873-6215

The weekend will be here before you know it! With all that there is to do here, why not include a visit to the Village on your agenda. Hope to see you there, and if you fall in love with the neighborhood and Suffern community and are interested in relocating or learning more about the area, give me a call and I'll be happy to help you.
