To show the importance of Green Ohio homes and living to Akron Ohio residents, not a week goes by, that I am not approached by a client looking to buy a home in Green Ohio! There are many reasons why, but it all starts with quality of life and the Green Ohio schools. Here is why; Green Local School District, rated Excellent with distinction in 2008, and Excellent in 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2002, serves approximately 4,000 students (K-12) in six school facilities, all mostly new and state of the art.
Green Ohio, formed in the early 1800's was dominated by large farms that produced valuable crops, and the farmland also covered vast areas of valuable coal, which became Green Township's second leading market product until its decline in the early 1900s. The local economy then slowly shifted from farming and coal mining to small businesses, manufacturing, and industries. By maintaining their "small town" aura, Green Ohio homes are very sought after.
In the 1950s, due to the increase in demand for residential housing, farmers began selling their farms to developers to form Green Ohio homes subdivisions. As a result of the increased development that the Community was realizing, interest in orderly growth, as well as preservation of the original township, led to discussions about becoming a city.
On April 5, 1992, the Village of Green Ohio was officially declared a City by then Secretary of State, Bob Taft. The City thrives due mostly to great leadership and co-operation with it's citizens. That small town feel has been maintained by hard work and dedication and has led to a feel of great accomplishment on what they have achieved.
Today, Green Ohio homes residents are proud of it's heritage and take steps to preserve it's rich history through an Historical Preservation Commission. The City has designated Historic Landmarks including the Lichtenwalter Schoolhouse located in Boettler Park, a historical cemetery located in Southgate Park, two city cemeteries dating back to the 1800s - Greensburg Cemetery and East Liberty Cemetery, where both of my parents rest and many private residences listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Green Ohio homes range from condos, small ranches, 4-5 bedroom Colonials to stately homes on the five fine golf courses. It is easy to find a Green Ohio home for every family situation and price range. My office is actually in Green Ohio and I can see first hand what a beautiful neighborhood it is to live and raise a family.

Trust me, I am your Green Ohio Homes Realtor
